To fit snugly in their proper place.
When the order to write a sonnet is given,
Freedom has been slightly sacrificed.
Yet without the hidden co-writer
The piece would never be,
So a unique creation
Becomes a reality.
A sonnet was enticed:
Thinking of You
I'm thinking of you again in this say,
Borrowing visions of the past selfishly,
While ordered to write with my arms in chains.
Barged in are strangers, glaring at my wish
To be free of them reaching for my pen.
Are they kin to the Egyptians that said,
No straw, show us, write with a tool that's bent?
Are they afraid I will spill words to dread?
I like to be free and sing my own song.
My elbows are tucked . It's hard to throw
Speech sent into the wind. It takes so long
With words being scissored, thoughts that I know
Are being trimmed to fit in a tight place.
Thinking of you, I filled in all the blanks.
