It does take work. You need to focus on something creative every day. Try doodling while you are on the phone. Take any opportunity to be creative. Your creativity may not be in doodling or drawing, but you will not know until you try. Practice for a bit every day. If that does not grab you, focus in another direction. If you like to write, start a journal and write something every single day. Writers are not born, they develop the talent. Developing the talent takes practice. The concert pianist became one by developing a natural talent through long hours of practice. If you do something often enough, it does become a part of you. Are there limits to being creative? Perhaps. Limits can sometimes be good for you. It will provide discipline so you can work with what you have on hand. Creativity is wonderful but limits will help you be resourceful.
Do you recall when you last did something for the first time and stepped out of your comfort zone? If you have not done that in awhile, you are missing a lot of experience that could help you grow and enhance your creativeness. Experiences add to the stories you can share in your writing or through drawing or whatever other creative outlet suits you. Telling the story of your first skydive at your next gathering would make you the life of the party.
Go nuts. Not straightjacket nuts, but do something the ordinary person would not. Everything that has come from creativity may have been thought crazy by the folks at the time. That did not stop those creative people from thinking beyond limits. The best creativeness comes from breaking down walls. That does not mean you have to act strange or turn into an eccentric personality. You still have to live in the real world, so stay grounded.
Think beyond the limitations placed on you by other people. Find the joy in living your life to the fullest by unleashing your creative side.
