Are the speakers of a good enough quality to supply that surround sound experience you are trying to obtain?
Does the System easily connect to your existing systems or do you need to buy adapters or maybe even a new television?
Is the Wattage output of the system enough to meet your needs in terms of volume level?
Do you have a good location for the speaker system in order to get the best sound quality for the room you put it in? Maybe you will need to buy speaker stands.
Do you want your Home Theater to be able to play CD's, CDR, DVD and DVDR?
Of course there is a lot more to consider but this should get you to thinking. I know when I bought my first system I got a unit that didn't have the Wattage I wanted. Unfortunately I didn't find that out until I hooked it all up in my home. It's no fun running all that speaker wire all over the room just to have to take it back out again.
The speakers are the real heart and soul of your system. When it comes to speakers there is a whole science out there on how to match them to your system and prices very greatly. Some companies make wireless surround speakers. By going that route you won't have to run any speaker wires and will have more options as to where your speaker placement can be. Most home theater systems come with their own speakers, which leaves the only real consideration that they match your décor.
Auxiliary equipment can really prove to be one of the bigger challenges in this whole deal. When it is all said and done you may have everything hooked up you wanted but you have to control it all with several remotes. Finding a good quality universal remote that will handle all of the different components may be hard to do.
It is more than likely that the centerpiece to your home entertainment system is going to be your television. The goal of a home entertainment system is to achieve a theater-like experience in the comfort of your own home. By combining good video and audio equipment you can get reach that goal and have years of enjoyment.
Even though it may sound like a lot to consider there are more and more companies coming out with bundled home theater systems that give you great flexibility and a full range of surround sound enjoyment. These systems are easy to set up and will achieve a great alternative to a night at the cinema in the comfort of your own living room.
