So what makes this new Wire Living Home so environmentally friendly?
First of all, they plan that these homes will be 36% more energy efficient than regular homes of a smaller size. Think of the possibilities if many homes had this capability! There is also highly efficient solar panels that produce more energy than ones before it.
Much of the items in the home are from recycled material such as the glass counter tops and the wall.
The washer and dryer use less energy and water depending on how dirty your clothes are. You can even set the toilet settings to have a different strength of a flush depending on what you put into it.
You can actually peddle for a few minutes on a bike to get more energy pumping through your house. Now to me that is a double benefit of both health to you, and the environment.
Energy consumption can be viewed on a dash board by the Lucid Design Group online. This is a great way to keep yourself from overusing.
In the main Wired Living Home project there are a ton of luxuries inside you may never dream of in your normal home. You can create settings online for your lights and music and have it all set up for when you come home from work. There are cameras in your children's room to keep an eye on them.
Products from the environment friendly home is on their website. Unless you have $4 million to spend on the home itself, buying the individual items is probably the way to go. Some products include: dual flush toilet, a Washlet toilet, funky dining room items, bowls, and utensils,Iris reader (for security), multi-room music control, a TouchSmart computer, and much more.
All the items have a sleek, yet warm look to it. Don't think just because you are going environmentally friendly you will be living in a bare tree house.
A luxury car even comes along with this home, the BMV Hydrogen 7. The BMV group is working towards having hydrogen as a fuel source for the future.
So why think green? Well as this shows you can have luxuries along with being environmentally friendly. On top of that, it'll save on your energy bill every month.
