Thinking Out Loud - Why Do the Democrats Want to Hide What They Are Doing?
"Leadership and Learning Are Indispensable to Each Other." John F. Kennedy
What is "unreasonable" is the fact that Congress doesn't even read the bills they are voting on. In the past 18 months, it has been the alternative media and private citizens who have brought up all the major issues with legislation because the people we elected to do this are not doing their jobs. What is "irrelevant" is Steny Hoyer himself. The man publicly mocked any effort to have the bills available for reading by the people they would affect, or even by the people who are supposed to watching out for our interest that vote on them.
It is more of the same by an Amdinistration and government that think they know more than we do what is best for us. If only they could "explain it better" we might just see why we need a bigger, more powerful and more intrusive government. If they could only just get us to see how better it would be for all of us we just let them do whatever they want without oversight, everything will be just peachy.
Not only have the Democrat leadership NOT allowed for the legislation to be viewed by the people, not only have they dismissed the idea of letting the Congress read the bills before they voted on them, they have publicly derided the people who have called for this to be done. Hoyer is not the only Democrat to have done this. Pelosi has (ridiculously) said, "We need to pass the bill so you can find out what is in it." This concept is so backwards that it would be an office water cooler joke if it wasn't real. But it is real and these corrupt politicians in Washington are out of control.
I say corrupt not in the sense that they are taking money on the side or anything illegal. I say corrupt as in they have let power go to their heads. They forget that they are supposed to representing the interests of the constituents who voted them into office. I say corrupt because they are not doing the job of representatives of a representational form of government. I say corrupt because they are.
As proof of their inability to actually do the job they are supposed to be doing, when they passed the much lauded credit card reform bill, they didn't actually read all the bill. One of the small details they let slip through the cracks is the very thing they said they were passing the bill into law they were supposed to be avoiding. Apparently, they just realized, after it has become law of course, that if a person falls behind in their credit card bill ninety days or more, the credit card company can raise their rates and charge outrageous percentages in interest.
Agree with me or disagree with me it makes no matter to me. I just want everyone to start thinking for themselves and stop listening to all these corrupt politicians who have proven they are NOT looking out for your best interest. Either way, this is just me, Thinking Out Loud.
Have a great day.
