Third Annual Dancing with Chicago Celebrities Ball Set to Dazzle

CHICAGO (February 2008)- Join Arthur Murray Dance Center at 7:30 p.m. on March 7 in the Hyatt Regency Crystal Ballroom as the dance company hosts the third annual Dancing with Chicago Celebrities charity ball, a gala to raise money to benefit A Silver Lining Foundation (www.asilverliningfoundation.org). Tickets are $175 per person. Attire is black tie optional. For information or to purchase tickets, visit www.dancingwithchicagocelebrities.org, or call (312) 644-7554.

The ball promises to follow up last year's success with an even more spectacular evening of dance, competition and fun. This year's event centers on the ballroom dancing competition, in which Chicago celebrities are paired with professional Arthur Murray dance instructors, and receive special training and choreography. All dancers are judged by a celebrity panel, including U.S. Smooth Champion and ABC's "Dancing With The Stars" alum, Nick Kosovich.

Chicago celebrities scheduled to appear include Roz Varon of ABC, Scott Mackay of 94.7 FM, Lisa Aprati of Comcast/CNN, Vince Gerasole of CBS, Ginger Zee of NBC, Dina Bair of WGN, Mike Adamle of NBC and Dan Ponce of ABC.

The evening includes the Chicago Celebrity Dance-Off, two professional floor shows featuring Kosovich and his wife and dance partner, Lena Kosovich, dancing, hors d'oeuvres, dessert, and a live auction for once-in-a-lifetime experiences.

"There's nothing better than an event that brings people together for such a great cause," says Dr. Sandy Goldberg, A Silver Lining Foundation founder and on-air television nutrition expert with NBC 5 news. "This will be a great opportunity for people to have fun, support one another, and watch spectacular professional dancing." Goldberg, who was diagnosed with breast cancer herself, formed A Silver Lining Foundation in 2002 in honor of her late mother to treat and care for underserved individuals affected by cancer.

Since A Silver Lining Foundation's launch in 2002, the organization has provided more than 400,000 people with information about cancer resources, treatment options and support services. The foundation's BUY A MOM A MAMMOGRAMâ„¢ program has given 1,000 women access to a cost free screening mammogram. The organization lives by a phrase Dr. Goldberg's mother used to live by: "No matter what your situation, you have to see the silver lining."

The Dancing With Chicago Celebrities Ball will be held 7 p.m. until 10:30 p.m. on Friday, March 7 at the Hyatt Regency Crystal Ballroom, 151 East Wacker Drive in Chicago. Tickets are $175, and all proceeds benefit A Silver Lining Foundation and the Chicago Affiliate of the Susan G. Komen for the Cure. Attire is black tie optional. For more information or to purchase tickets, visit www.dancingwithchicagocelebrities.org, or call (312) 644-7554. To learn more about A Silver Lining, visit http://www.asilverliningfoundation.org.
