This mixture forms a dough that is later pressed out of a tube into a long rope. The wet chalk is then sliced into equal lengths and put into a kiln to dry. When the company makes colored chalk, they add powdered color pigments to the mixture.
Chalk is basically 40 % calcium, 12 % carbon and 48 % oxygen, and not only can it be used in the ways I'm going to give you, but chalk is also used to make paint, polishing powders, rubber goods, putty, and Portland cement.
Use With Your Costume Jewelry
Placing a piece of black board chalk in your jewelry box with your costume jewelry. This will prevent your pieces from tarnishing.
Use With Your Screw Driver
If you're having trouble with your screw driver slipping while screwing in a screw, then rub the end with a piece of black board chalk.
Let Your Kids Use It Outside
If your kids love playing hop scotch or any other games that need to be drawn on the driveway, give them a piece of chalk. It will wash off with water.
Use Chalk To Polish Marble
Use a mortar and pestle to pulverize 2 or 3 pieces of chalk. When you have a fine powder, sprinkle a little onto a soft cloth, and use it to polish anything made of marble or metal. After you're finished, rinse and use another soft cloth to dry.

Put a bundle of chalk in a container and put it in your closet. This will help absorb the moisture.

If you ever get grease on you clothes, just rub a piece of chalk over the spot, wait until it absorbs the grease, brush off and wash the item on its usual wash cycle.

To prevent your tools from rusting, just put 2 or 3 pieces of black board chalk in your tool box and it will absorb the moisture.

If you don't like slugs, put a chalk line across whatever you want to keep them away from and they will not cross it.

You can cover a blemish on white suede by rubbing it with black board chalk.

When you need to plaster over a hole, just put a piece of chalk in the hole, break it off, then plaster.
Use With Your Silverware
Put 1 piece of chalk in the container with your silver ware and it will absorb the moisture and prevent your silverware from tarnishing.

Ants won't cross over a chalk line, so either draw a line of line, or put chalk powder outside, across the window sills, the door ways and the water pipes.
Use It On Your Dirty Collars
You want to remove the sebum oil that causes dirt to stick to the collar, so rub the collar with a piece of chalk and leave it on until it absorbs the oil.
