I was somewhat down last night thinking about some of the situations in my life and realized how I forgot who I am in Christ. I put my identity in a person and I forgot that I am more than that. I am Csilla. I am ME. God wanted me to be born because He wanted ME. Last night I watched with my daughter the movie "Ice Princess" and I cried thinking about how there was not one thing that I wanted to do with all my heart that I would give anything for it....the movie was about this girl really giving up everything to iceskate...to fulfill her dream.
You know satan is really good at making us feel hopeless, worthless, goal-less(if that is a word). I knew in my heart last night that it was him, but the brokeness in my heart rode along with the idea that I have no passion, no goals...nothing...I used to want to be a doctor...but never went to medical school; life is not how you plan it to be; I wanted to be a balerina...my dad decided for me and never went; then you have people in your life that do not believe that where your heart is it's really God...and you keep listening and listening o the devil himself and people and end up old and never accomplished anything.
The cemetery is full of people who had dreams and potentials and talents...yet no one ever heard about their talents being used in a mighty way. They probably listened to to others....and satan speaking through others...and they gave up.
The truth is God created YOU unique and if He is the maker then your talents are from God. No one is just born with talents...think about it....if a car maker makes a car a certain way isn't because he or she wants that car to have a specific purpose? A toaster is made to make toast not tell time? A train is made to carry cargo or people not to fly. So, it is with you , you have the gift of singing because God gave it to you..it didnt just develop as a talent or "suddelny" appear. Why would a maker put it there if he didn't want it to be used? If you can swim there is a reason why God put it there>. I cannot do that..I constantly sink. There is a reason why I do not have the talent. Yes, some gifts/talents God gives we can develop, but I am saying the seed is already there because there IS a purpose for it.
It breaks my heart to hear people, pastors, family members saying, "Son/Daughter...that is just your talent , you need to find out what God really called you to do in life". WRONG!
Your talents and gifts are there to SUPPORT whatever God called you to do in life.If you can swim and enjoy it then God wants you to use it, not hide it. If you can cook, God wants you to glorify Him with that. Use it and joy will overflood you. If you can sing. Rock on! If you can interpret and have the gift of speaking many languages then why do you think you can and some cannot? For decoration? Because God has a purpose for you where you need to use that gift. It may be business negotation, interpreting, etc...now that is your part to find out.
If you cook you say, "God , I know you want me to do something with this or You wouldn't have given me this gift, but show me where to use it...a restaurant? a homeless shelter? a TV show?" The WHERE is your part to find out, but not WHAT?
You already KNOW what God called you to do. Look at yoru gifts and talents...God wants you to use them. The world is getting full of people trying to be who they are NOT becuase they were tols that who they are it is not from God. Stop listening to LIES! God is not a person to play tricks with you and hide from you who you are. He clearly shows you.
Just BE who He already made you be. You know a toaster cannot ever tell time , but it can sure make some good toast..because it is just fulfilling its role..its destiny. We need to stop wanting to be something we are not or lsitening to people to make us be what we are not. And parents please stop makeing your children live YOUR life. God created them with their own special gifts and talents for a PURPOSE. They have their own destiny. And not obeying GOd and fulfilling your purpose is plains rebellion plus misery to the one who has to be someone they are not. Try making a lion be a horse....will he be happy?
Passion arises when we are being ourselves. Passion brings energy. You want to get up in the morning and cannnot wait to do what you are...basically to just BE....
So many of us wake up in the morning to go to a job we hate, work the hours we hate, to come home to a place we hate...etc...WHY? WHY?
By the way...this morning...I meditated on my passions and realized...this is my passion: Jesus. My greatest goal and passion in life is to travel and tell people about Jesus. Also, I would like to help the poor...feed them and just love on them. This is what gives me passion: sharing with you about Jesus, about how you are his masterpiece ( Kris Valloton). Kris also says that if we degrade the person, we degrade the artist ( God). Yet, the church and the world make us feel like if we accept who we are then we are arrogant...as Kris says, humility is not putting yourself down because then you put God down, but accepting who God made you, accepting who you are. Do not be afraid to say, " I am good at singing". It is not arrogance. You are just agreeing with God.
And when God looks down on Earth and sees you singing, and sees you cooking your heart out, and you running..He says, " See...See?...I made HIM/HER that way"...and He is smiling and He is being praised. Its like when you make something and someone says, "WOW"..isn't it you, the author/maker the one that gets recognition?
