Roberto Martinez Should Edge Out Chris Lambton for "The Final Rose"

Steven Bryan
The latest season of "The Bachelorette" has been a real emotional rollercoaster ride for Ali Fedotowsky, the spunky blonde passed over by Jake Pavelka on "The Bachelor: On the Wings of Love" earlier this year. After some severe emotional betrayals from two potential husbands, Ali whittled the field down to two prospective mates: Roberto Martinez and Chris Lambton.

The teasers for the final episode of Ali's season of "The Bachelorette" indicate that Fedotowsky may not choose either finalist, but if she does make a choice, it really should be Roberto.

Roberto there to comfort Ali after Justin's betrayal

While in Istanbul, Turkey, Ali learned, via a phone call, that Canadian wrestler Justin Rego had a girlfriend back home. Chris Harrison sat down with Ali, telling her that the producers verified Justin's misrepresentation, especially after they discovered he had made clandestine phone calls to a lady friend back home.

After an emotional confrontation with Justin, a shattered Ali sat down next to Roberto, who immediately put his arm around her. Ali's choice to sit next to Roberto at a time of crisis is pretty telling. Roberto will be there for Ali, during the good times and the bad.

Roberto Martinez willing to get oiled up for Ali

According to Ali, olive oil wrestling is a big deal in Turkey. To make her remaining suitors prove their love, each man had to strip down, put on leather pants and get a coating of olive oil in order to square off against four professional wrestlers. There was a lot of grumbling from the guys, but Roberto took it pretty much in stride, even making it to a final match against Personal Injury Lawyer Craig Robinson.

Both Roberto and Chris have difficulties letting down some emotional walls

Roberto and Chris, the final two bachelors left standing, each have some issues letting down some emotional walls. During a trip to Lisbon, Portugal, Bachelorette Ali was hoping that each man would open up or risk being eliminated in the next "Rose Ceremony." Roberto finally redeemed himself on his Portugal date, lowering some of his emotional walls to show Ali he was ready for love.

How does Frank Neuschaeffer factor into Ali's choice?

Chicago resident Frank Neuschaeffer was the front-runner for Ali's affections, even when he was being wishy-washy about his feelings. Frank ultimately betrayed Ali in a way that made Justin's behavior look tame. Making it to the "Hometown Dates" and beyond, Frank started having doubts about his love for Ali, and went to his ex-girlfriend Nicole to make sure his heart wasn't with her, but it was.

Waiting until he was part of the "Final 3" was a pretty crass move on Frank's part, and one that could have serious consequences on Ali's decision. Frank was the one man that Ali kept saying she could have a life with, but where does that leave Roberto? Roberto is a solid, decent and honorable man, but this may not be the time for him to propose to Ali. She needs time to heal before she's ready to love again.
