This China Doll

Let Your Butterfly Be Free!

Dan Reveal
I would never take a dim view,
if you had to let your butterfly be free.
For I would know that it was just you being you,
even if your freedom couldn't find a place for me.

So I will put away this china doll,
before it has time to collect more dust.
My fondest sound no longer calls me back.
Sometimes the thing in life you need the most
is the one thing that you lack.

I would never forget your tender touch,
even if you hadn't brought me back to life.
For I would know that I had hoped too much
that you would stay and be my wife.

So I will put away this china doll,
before it has time to collect more dust.
My fondest sound no longer calls me back.
Sometimes the thing in life you need the most
is the one thing that you lack.

Wow! Very thought-provoking. Oh, and I actually have a couple of these dolls collecting dust at my parents' house :)
