This Day in History - April 28

Elena dal Friuli
Master's mate Christian in 1789
Seized the HMS Bounty following his design.
He set Captain Bligh and 18 others adrift
In a small open boat, with a move oh so swift.

It was 1897, when the Choctaw and Chickasaw
Agreed the communal land ownership to withdraw.
They abolished their tribal government too
And when other tribes followed, all their lands they bid adieu.

"With mourning hearts we stand united here," Aletta Jacobs said
In 1915 to the Hague attendees and the women she led.
Her goal was to talk of tragedies to the countries at war
With hope her words would cause peace venues to explore.

In 1945 on April the 28
Benito Mussolini left his estate.
Flee to Switzerland was one of his plans,
But he was caught and killed by the partisans.

Events collected from The History Channel.
