This Milkshake Mixer Will Bring Everyone to the Yard

Review of the Oster Classic Milkshake Mixer

The Oster Classic Milkshake Mixer, a soda-shop relic straight out of Grease, is a must-have for shake, malt and smoothie lovers. A great present, the mixer is simple, elegant and easy to use. Built with a heavy duty die-cast alloy body, this kitchen accessory will create everything from classic milkshakes to creative fruit drinks -- it's all up to the imagination!

The Oster Classic Milkshake Mixer (models 6625, 6626 and 6627) operates on two speeds: high and low. It has non slip feet to prevent spills, a spindle and twin aeration disks for mixing, and a 28.5 ounce stainless steel cup. Priced at about $60, the mixer also comes with a one-year limited warranty.

Using the mixer is easy. Simply plug it into the wall, fill the cup with your favorite ingredients (only use crushed ice if you're making a fruit smoothie), attach the mixing disks, hold the cup to the unit so that the disks are submerged, turn the control switch to the desired speed, blend for 90 seconds, and serve! The outcome is cold, well-stirred, and yummy. To clean, rinse the cup and the detachable disks and you're done! This product is dishwasher safe and should be cleaned immediately after you use it.

This milkshake mixer is particularly useful if you like to try your own milkshake recipes. The instruction manual comes with a few ideas, but you can experiment with any ice cream, frozen yogurt, fruit, or add-ins you desire. If your creation fails the taste test, you don't have to waste more than 28 ounces of ingredients. Been itching to make your own peanut butter and pickle shake? Here's your chance! The size of the cup is also a downfall of the machine, however, because it only makes enough for two people at a time. If you're hosting a party, you will have to constantly re-fill and re-mix to serve all of your guests.

The Oster Classic Milkshake Mixer an also benefit athletes who drink health shakes or dieters using weight-loss mixes; children who are learning their way around the kitchen and would like its ease of use (and parents will appreciate the safety feature that keeps the machine from mixing without the cup in place); and patients who have to drink shakes for health reasons (especially if you've just had your tonsils removed). It's also an attractive product. It's sleek and shiny, just like the professional mixers used in diners and soda shops. Small enough to store anywhere in your kitchen, this mixer is sure to make a big splash with anyone who loves ice cream.
