We learned early on that when you're in a hurry to get to work - or wherever - at the same time, we had to improvise and compromise. It became a habit that most often, when we both needed showers, we would just take our showers together. Our showers have always been shower/tub units, so there was plenty of room.
We still continue this practice - and it's even more necessary now with five in our household. We've learned the lesson: If you want a hot shower, you get it however you're able!
About two years ago when our oldest was about nine, we were in a rush to get somewhere so hubby and I were taking a joint shower.
Our son walked into the bathroom to ask my husband a question. I answered instead.
We both heard Kage gasp in horror, then he said "Mom! But I thought Dad was in here?!"
"I am," my husband answered.
We could hear Kage stumbling as he tried to retreat from the bathroom as quickly as possible. He was mumbling "Oh my gosh! Oh my gosh!" as he exited.
He was horrified at the idea that Mom and Dad were both together - at the same time - in the shower!
