Title: This Moment

Artist/Band: Fundamental Elements

When I first received the band Fundamental Elements Virtual Press Kit (VPK) I wasn't sure what to think. Their bio listed influences like John Legend, Jason Mraz, Justin Timberlake, Jamie Lidell, Michael Jackson, One Republic, dc Talk and more.

Their musical genres bounced from R&B, jazz, funk, rock, pop, soul and all styles in between. The bands past , present and upcoming touring & performance schedule is booked solid with over 125 gigs a year with concerts and festivals like Cornerstone, Ichthus, Red Gorilla, Agape Fest, and more. So they seem like a motivated band of young men with two full length CD's, 2 EP's and tracks on compilation discs over the past six years as a band.

So I loaded their latest E.P. in to my music player and went on an audio soul searching journey through the six tracks it contained.

First up is the feel good title track "This Moment" with the catchy sing along anthem chorus "This Moment, its My Time to Shine, This Moment, I Feel So Alive I keep Going Till the Day I Die. It's What I've Waited For, What I'm Created For, This Moment, It's On The Line, Feel's So Divine, This Moment What I've Waited For What I'm Created For"

The second track "Sometimes" is also the first single released off this EP and is a beautiful softer crossover style pop groove. Check your favorite rock or Pop stations for this track to start making its rotation very soon.

Powerful stuff, I'm predicting the third track "Superman" will be a smash radio crossover single with its up beat funk rhythm and soulful Pop R&B lyrics "Let Me Be Your Superman, I wanna Save Ya, Girl I'll Do The best I Can, Let's Fly Away Pretty baby"

This Moment is very well written, performed and produced The last three tracks on the CD really hit home with almost any listener songs like "Standing In The Shadows", "You're Not Alone" and the pose a question to the listener in the song "How Do You Maintain". Deep lyrics and soulful vocals from Russ Mohr help drive these songs to the heart.

Their Biography was correct you can't put them in just one or two music genres I detected hints of ska, funk, and they reminded me of bands like The Urge, the Newsboys, and Big Daddy Weave.

This ultra diverse and tight band hailing from the St. Louis, Missouri area made up of Russ Mohr: lead vocals, trumpet, Luke DeJaynes: drums, Mark DeJaynes: bass guitar, Dustin Burggraaf: keys, programming is sure to be a band to watch rise the charts in the upcoming months.
