This Old Town

Things Were DIfferent Then

The Old Town Didn't Have
Much Class

That's What They Said...
Or, What I heard....

Where "Name Brand" Clothes,
Were "Hand Me Downs"....
But, Clean and Pressed
Not Many Stains....

Sunday Meals Were Prepared
Ahead....
Abundance of Food
For Family and Friends

Not Many Diners Could Survive
in This Town
But, Prayers and Love were Plentiful....

In The Little Ole Church
On the Hill

Where the Cows Haze
and the Gardens Flourish

The Old Town That My Mama Grew Up In. She Used To Tell Me Such Wonderful Stories About This Small Town Called Waxhaw N.C.
Money Can't buy Happiness. Abundance of Prayers and Love, this is what really leads to true happiness "inside".

Wonderful.....it's unfortunate that life today is so much more complicated and rushed.

i live in a small town. everyone either knows everyone else or doesn't want to know everyone else. i liked this poem. you have captured the essence of small town life. some of us still have faith.

Rich in images and symbols - and plain, "old fashioned" common sense, Cathie. "Mama sense" is the best (smile). Michael

Sounds much better than the world we live in today. Nice job :)
