This Senior Has Moved in and Now the Fun Begins

Moving is the Pits and so is Unpacking

Sondra C
I write this sitting out on my back porch. I have a cup of coffee in one hand and a piece of toast in the other. My cat is sitting on one of the chairs her eyes taking in all of the sites.

I live on a golf course, yes, that is right. I watch the golfers come and go and laugh at what I see. To me golf is silly. The carts carry two and each take a chance of getting down and hitting the golf ball. Then they get back in the cart and drive away. Sounds boring to me, but hey, I never played.

I sit and watch the Crane's ahead of me. Some are white. In front of me there are two large Crane's that are known as Sand Cranes. They are a sandy color, and always walk in pairs. I was told that the Sand Cranes are wed for life.

They talk - all of the time- a noisy bird for sure. At the end of the day they fly in a flock so low I could practically touch them. Just like in the movies they soar together in a group. Amazing - I have never seen this beautiful sight - I was brought up in the big city.

The tree directly in front of my beautiful back porch, is known as a Bottle Brush Tree. They give off lovely red flowers that resemble a Bottle Brush. However, the Hummingbirds are attracted to their red color, and the flowers make breakfast or lunch for the birds and soon the flowers are gone.

One lone squirrel passed in front of me and my cat noticed her. Squirrels were all that my cat saw in our Condo. It made me think that this one lone squirrel was saying hello as she passed the Golf Course.

The golfers balls, at times, are right below my window and they walk over in pairs to pick them up.

I love my new Villa that is on the golf course. To be honest with you this move was worth the time and effort it took to pack and unpack.

The sight is unbelievable - I love my new home and my cat is getting used to it. In the beginning she hid in the closet or in another room. She was not used to so much activity inside and out of the house. She is fine now and has found her favorite spots to sit and sleep and is getting brave. She went out on the front porch yesterday for the first time..

All in All I love my Move..Now all I have to do is pray that someone buys my Condo, which is up for sale - before I go broke paying the taxes for both of my homes.

I was going to take a picture of the Sand Cranes that were so close to my screen yesterday but my camera broke! I will have to buy another.

Great to be back and hoping to finish unpacking one of these days!

Sand Cranes fly in a flock and look even more beautiful in person than in the movies. The mate for life and talk to each other in a very loud harsh voice.

Sounds great, Sondra! (Did you make sure you had a spare room or 2 for all of us who plan to come visit and enjoy your new place, too? ...LOL...)

I think you should shout out of your window at random golfers "FORE!" and see what happens lol.

Maybe you can do a "rent to own" deal so the condo is not so burdensome!

We live on a golf course and I love it too. I have this beautiful, big yard that someone else takes care of. However, I love to play golf too. Hope you sell your condo. Did you bury St. Joseph upside down?

Book several rush jobs. Barely time to read, much less comment. Please excuse this canned page view. Grace and mercy always, mike.
