This Summer, Why Not Play the Cornhole Game?

R
If you're looking for something new and fun to do over the summer, you should consider learning the Cornhole game. A lot of people in the Northeast and the Midwest areas of the US know what this game is, but people in other parts of the country are often unclear about it because they aren't familiar with the term.

If you tell them it's the bean bag game, they generally recognize it. It's all in what you call it. No matter what you call it, though, or even if you've never heard of it, it's worth learning about and playing with friends and family members when the weather is nice.

To play the Cornhole game you'll need the proper equipment, and you can either buy or make that equipment, depending on what you enjoy doing and your abilities with wood and cloth. If you decide to make your own there are instructions on the Internet to do so.

If you just want to buy one you can also do that, and there are some great places on the Internet to get them for a good price. Some sporting goods stores sell them, as well. When you're going to buy one, consider several factors, besides the price.

You'll want to pay attention to what the board and the bags are made from. Originally, Cornhole boards were made of wood and the bags were made of cloth stuffed with actual corn. Unfortunately, both wood and cloth break down over time, and the corn did not hold up well if it got wet or if insects or animals found the bags.

Now you can get Cornhole equipment that is more durable - although the traditional options are still available, too. All-weather Cornhole equipment gives you a board made from plastic and bags that are made from a durable cloth and stuffed with plastic pellets.

They are the same weight, shape, and size as the original Cornhole game pieces, but they will last much longer, meaning that you and your family and friends can enjoy them for many more summers to come.

Once you get the Cornhole board and the bags home, you can learn the rules very easily, and almost anyone can play the game. There is no heavy lifting, no running or jumping, and no complicated maneuvers that you need to do, so the very young, the very old, and everyone in between can play together and really enjoy the game. It's a great thing to play during birthday parties, backyard barbecues, family get-togethers, or any time at all.
