Say It in Writing
Remember getting love notes from a classmate when you were younger? Remember how that made you feel? Most of us, including men, love to know how others feel about them. Your partner is no different. Show your feelings by writing them a love note or romantic poem that signifies how you feel about them and your relationship.
Spice It Up: Make it special by using paper that will trigger their senses. Cut wavy lines or add their favorite scent to make them weak in the knees. Don't forget to leave a trail! Leaving multiple notes in special places will definitely make sure you are on their mind all day.
Say It with Food
Taste is the sense that leads straight to the heart, so why not a plan an exceptionally romantic dinner. The night is all about that special someone so make sure the menu is catered to their tastes. Imagine their surprise when they walk in the door and smell their favorite meal cooking in the kitchen.
Spice It Up: Don't just focus on dinner. Set the mood by dimming the lights, lighting some candles, and having their favorite music and drinks on hand. Cap the night off with their favorite dessert. Valentine's Day is all about indulgence, so spare no expense.
Say It with a Gift
Give them what they did not ask for. A gift! Surprise them with something they mentioned in the past but have long forgotten about, or the thing they would be surprised that you remembered.
Spice It Up: An added bonus would be to have an extra special present waiting for them in the morning. How shockingly sweet would it be to jump in your car and have a present waiting for you! I would absolutely love that and am sure they will too. You might even get some tears. If the car thing is out of the question, consider stashing a present at their office.
Say It with Flowers
The old school way to capture someone's heart is by sending them flowers. By old school I don't mean boring, because I still melt when I am surprised with a beautiful bouquet. One suggestion to make it special for your sweetie would be to nix the roses and spring for a sensual flower, like the Lily.
Say it by doing the Unexpected
We all have things we should be doing more often. Wash the dishes, take out the garbage, and do all those "little" things you've been meaning to do but did not know it meant so much to your partner. If you are already the perfect roommate, skip the chores and plan something that highlights how attentive you are. Rent the movie that they want to watch and grab some takeout for the perfect night in!
Spice It Up: If you lead a busy life and only have time for a quick lunch, why not surprise your partner with an impromptu lunch date. This idea is simple but will leave them smiling when they return to the office.
