This Week on "Dancing With the Stars" Hines Ward Tops the Leader Board with the Rumba

Last week Sugar Ray Leonard was sent home and many fans were sad to see him leave.

This week on "Dancing With The Stars" the stars will be performing dances to classic American-themed songs.

Ralph Macchio and Karina Smirnoff performed the samba to Lynyrd Skynyrd's "Sweet Home Alabama." Last week they received their best score, which made this week more that much harder. They put a lot of country step dancing into the performance which was a bit off, I thought. She's from Russia and he's from New York, so wearing cowboy costumes and doing a line dance was a bit of a stretch. Len Goodman said one week he thinks Ralph is a contender and the next week he doesn't. Len said he needs more consistency and hip action. Bruno agreed with Len, however Carrie Ann Inaba disagreed with them both. Judges scores: 22 out of 30.

Chris Jericho and Cheryl Burke performed the Viennese waltz to "America The Beautiful." Cheryl can certainly pack in a ton of steps, which is why she makes so many stars into great dancers. Their performance was classy and calm. Len Goodman told Jericho that he would give him an 8, when he deserved it. And yes, he got his 8 from Len. Judges scores: 26 out of 30.

Petra Nemcova and Dmitry Chaplin performed the quickstep to Elvis Presley's "Viva Las Vegas." Her biggest challenge was learning to not bounce during her steps. Their performances are very elegant and classy and they seem very much in sync. Judges scores: 22 out of 30.

Romeo Miller and Chelsie Hightower performed the foxtrot to "New York, New York." Romeo said he wanted to show the judges how serious he is about the competition. They did a really good job. Judges scores: 26 out of 30.

Hines Ward and Kym Johnson performed the rumba to "Proud To Be An American." Last week they received a standing ovation for their paso doble, and Carrie Ann Inaba said Hines was "in the zone." So far, this couple has received the highest scores in the competition, consistently. Len called it their best dance so far. Judges scores: 27 out of 30, making it his highest score ever, and so far the highest score of the night.

Kirstie Alley and Maksim Chmerkovskiy performed the foxtrot to "American Woman." Len said it had attitude, had a lot of basic steps, but it wasn't his cup of tea. They could have done better I thought. Judges scores: 23 out of 30.

Kendra Wilkinson and Louis van Amstel performed the foxtrot to "Yankee Doodle Dandy." This week they did a fabulous job. She always does better when she doesn't look terrified, of course. This performance was really good and she gained her confidence that was lost last week. Judges scores: 22 out of 30.

Chelsea Kane and Mark Ballas performed to Miley Cyrus' song "Party In The U.S.A." Every week they are the most entertaining of the entire group. The judges agreed that Chelsea has a lot of natural dance ability. I think they are my favorite couple because they are not only great just they bring the excitement. Judges scores: 26 out of 30.

Those at the top of leader board: Hines Ward and Kym Johnson with 27. Rounding out second place with a 3-way tie: Chelsea and Mark, Romeo and Chelsie Hightower, and Chris Jericho and Cheryl Burke - with 26.

Tonight, for the results show, Toby Keith will perform on the "Dancing With The Stars" stage and we'll see who goes home. Who are your favorites? Share your thoughts from this season in the comments section. Thanks for reading!
