There is no doubt that John McCain served his country well. There is no doubt that he was a good soldier. I am not here to contest all that. I am here to explain why I hate this man. His lies and scandals are so many to cite in this short article of mine but I will try my best to state my case and I leave the rest to you.
I shall begin with the very famous "Keating Five" scandal that occurred in Senator McCain's early career as a senator. According to Wikipedia.org, in 1989, five US Senators were accused of improperly aiding Charles Keating, Jr, chairman of the failed Lincoln Savings and Loan Association, which was the target of an investigation by the Federal Home Loan Bank. The senators requested that the investigation should be eased off on the bank. It was later found that these senators had been benefiaries of $1.3 million in campaign contribution from Keating. The Lincoln Savings and Loan's collapse is said to have cost taxpayers $3.4 billion!! After months of testimony revealed that all five senators acted improperly to differing degrees. McCain involvement however was decided to be "minimal"
in 2000, Mc Cain was butchered by the Bush campaign. He was more smeared in that campaign more than Clinton was smeared prior to his impeachment hearings. He was bullied around and evidently lost the nomination. After he lost, he became an enemy to the Bush administration and voted for many bills against Bush. He worked with more democrats like Feingold, Kerry, Kennedy and even was rumored to be leaving the republican party. However, after the 2001 attacks McCain suddenly changed positions and became an ally of Bush. He quickly supported the war in Iraq and stated on record that Iraq had "substantial amount of weapons of mass destruction." He did not say that he suspects that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction or that there is a good chance they do. No, he said they have "substantial amount of WMDs". Well, that was a lie. Then, again suddenly he became very critical of the Iraqi war and the handling of it, claiming that "All of the trends are in the wrong direction" (Newsmaker).
In 2007, McCain announced his intention to run for president. McCain decided to run as an "underdog" this time even though he had been in the political scene and had more experience more than anyone in the Republican nominees. But he decided he was an underdog anyways. He then proceeded by going on the attack in a negative, shameful way against Romney. An attack that he suffered from against Bush. An attack that he thought was dishonest. Now, he was using the same scare tactics that Bush used back in 2000. Now, how am I supposed to trust this "respected" man, this soldier, this "dignified" senator from Arizona. I simply can not.
But, changing positions and the smearing are not his only vices. Mc Cain lies and he lies a lot. He claims in a CNN interviews that there are "villages" now in Baghdad where anyone can walk safely without fear of any harm and without protection. Well, if this is true why on his last visit Senator McCain was surrounded by at least 12 soldiers, a helicopter flying above and a humvee waiting behind. This statement is simply not true. Furthermore, he claimed that General Petraeus goes out sometimes in Iraq without the protection of humvees. Another statement that was not true. General Petraeus's staff said that the General "never goes out in anything less than an up-armored humvee." Furthermore, General Barry McCaffrey said "no Iraqi government official, coalition soldier, diplomat reporter could walk the streets of Baghdad without heavily armed protection" When confronted with his lies, McCain lies again and states "Well, I'm not saying they could go without protection. The President goes around America with protection. So, certainly I didn't say that." (CNN). The man lies about his lies!
Additionally, Senator McCain does not apparently listen to what the American people wants since he claims that "the American people does not care if we stay in Iraq for a hundred years." I am not sure which people is he talking about because these are certainly not the wishes of the people living in this country that we called the United States. He even bickers with Romney, like little school boy, on the word "timetable" to get out of Iraq as if this word was the devil. Yes, Senator, we want a timetable. We want to get out of this Iraq mess, we want our troops home and we want security for our country. We do not want a stupid physical wall that will divide us from Mexico because that is the most ridicule idea ever. I am not sure what planet is this man living on because his head are in the clouds.
But I hate him also for being disrespectful. In his triumph speech he disrespects the former ruler of Cuba, Fidel Castro for no reason none whatsoever. Yes, Fidel was a dictator in Cuba but he is still a president of another sovereign country. Dictator or not, he represents this country and an insult to him is an insult to the whole country. Additionally, as bad as Fidel was, he has better approval ratings and he is more loved and respected than a president that some people in this great country elected. Again he does not stop with Fidel Castro but he also insults the president of Venezuela and calls him a bully. Let us pretend for a minute that we are all Venezuelans, would we like a senator from another country to call our president a bully and attack him? I certainly would not. I do not see a reason for these childish insults that have no motive but to cheer the ill-informed crowd. Another disturbing image: At a stop on Senator John McCain's "Straight Talk" tour, the 2008 presidential candidate decided to respond to a question regarding Iran by singing: "Bomb, Bomb, Bomb, Bomb Iran" by changing the words to a popular Beach Boys song. That is aside from stereotyping that Muslims are bunch of fanatics who hate America. That is simply distasteful, disrespectful and simply idiotic. The man has no respect for others. Some will argue that he is disrespecting people we should not respect. Well, firstly that is an ignorant comment. Secondly, I am certain that not every Cuban, Venezuelan or Iranian deserves our disrespect nor are they all bad. Thirdly, even if they do deserve disrespect, then we should be better than that and more civilized. Otherwise, what is the difference between them and us? Lastly, McCain also disrespects other fellow Americans by calling news reporters jerks and by lying to the American public.
Another point I would like to raise is that how can anyone trust a man who was not even kind to his own wife when she supported him during his crisis but when she had a crisis of her own, as she was in an car accident in Dec. 1969, McCain decided to have extramarital affairs, not one but many and finally divorce her. One of these affairs was with his second wife, Cindy Hensley, a teacher from Arizona and daughter of a wealthy beer distributor. They were married only a month after his divorce. The wealthy marriage would come in handy later for him when he ran for the congress.
There is no doubt that Senator John McCain is a controversial character. He is known to be a very impatient man with an ill-temper. He is a cynic, and also a tendency to not keep his mouth shut when saying things he should not say. A classic example in 1998, during a Republican fund-raiser, Senator McCain asked "Why is Chelsea Clinton so ugly? Because her father is Janet Reno," the U.S. Attorney General at the time. Even recently, an article in the New York Times alluded to the fact that Senator McCain might have been involved romantically with a lobbyist and that his campaign staff had to intervene to keep them separated. Whether it happened or not, I am not sure but I would not be surprised if it did. I think we all agree on the saying "once a cheater, always a cheater."
If you cheat, you lie and if you lie then you are not a person to be trusted and you become someone who is capable of doing anything that is harmful. This is my personal opinion and I am responsible for it. I simply HATE John McCain.

Post a CommentJohn McSlime is an old feeble minded neo-con with no morals or ethics to his name. You say Honor I say disgrace. Scandals have followed him everywhere throughout his career and probably Congress. His in bed with Bush on everything from getting Corporate America richer to destroying the Constitution and Civil rights and liberties for the American people. When are people going to "Wake Up". Someone show me the difference between these people and the Nazis of Germany.
Fuck John McCain! Old piece of shit!
Well, as a former Arizonan, I do disagree on the fact that there are many Americans (and especially Arizonans that have been negatively affected for years upon years with the property thefts and violent crimes committed against them by these illegal Mexicans) who do want a physical wall or border between Mexico and the U.S. You 'secure' you home and property with fencing as a physical deterrant for your own home, there does need to be a wall between Mexico and U.S. property to protect the citizens in the border states from any further 'attacks' from the border hoppers, gangs and drug dealers that regularly go back and forth without, leaving the citizenry in those states defenseless.
You need to live in Arizona for quite a few years, to understand the magnitude of the problem. And also one of those 9/11 conspirators lived n Tucson for several years, and two others trained at an airport less than 10 miles from my former home.
It should have been done after the Mexican/American wa
GM, as a former 45 year Arizonan who actually went to the same grammar and high school as Cindy McCain (graduating one year ahead) you have no idea as to the 'truth' of the McCain's, nor his betrayal of his fellow Arizonans time and time again....and the mortgage crisis now is due in part to the Keating 5 S&L crash federal solution then, of which John and Cindy were major friends of the Keatings, and his American Continental Corporation (a development firm) in which they were invested.
You truly have only scratched the service of the 'falsity' of McCain.....
