"A" for Astra Woodcraft, and the child she fled to save.
She faced the chill of disconnect, and others tithed their babes.
Astra Woodcraft joined the Church of Scientology at the age of seven, when her parents joined the cult. Astra was forced into the "elite" Sea Organization and after her fifteenth birthday, she married a twenty-one year old man at the behest of the cult. At the age of nineteen, Astra became pregnant. Like many other women, she was confronted by the cult, which demanded that she have an abortion. Astra chose to leave the cult, however this meant that she would have to deal with the CoS's policy of disconnection, which meant that no one in the cult was to contact her in any way...including her parents.
"N" for Noah Lottick, who was only 24.
With a slim fistful of dollars, he sailed from the tenth floor.
On May eleventh, 1990, Noah Lottick jumped to his death clutching 171 dollars...the only money he had not spent on the cult. In his suicide note, Lottick stated that he hoped the Church of Scientology could be outlawed.
"O" for drowned Ophelias who perished in the deep:
Ostertag, The Pilot, Margart Winkelmann, and Pete.
As far as I can tell, Ophelias is an allusion to William Shakespeare's famous tragedy Hamlet, in which a girl by the name of Ophelias eventually loses her mind and drowns herself. In 1985, Andreas Ostertag, who was at the head of a German Scientology mission drowned off the coast of Clearwater, Florida. Reports published in Germany have led to awkward questions about Ostertag's mysterious death. Margarit Winkelmann was 51 when she walked fully clothed into the waters of Clearwater Bay after being taken off her psychiatric drugs by the Church of Scientology, which is opposed to such medication. the other two names are extremely difficult to search for, so you will have to forgive me for omitting explanations of them.
"N" is for Not Drowning: Josephus in the bath,
his death a dark monstrosity of cruelty and wrath.
In !980, Josephus Havenith was found dead in his apartment at the Scientology-owned Fort Harrison Hotel. Officially, Josephus drowned. In reality, he was murdered--when his corpse was discovered, his head was above the water, which was so hot that it had scalded away much of his skin.
"Y" is what we ask aloud as we behold the sight
of your ostentatious monoliths, their windows shut to light.
These lines are fairly simple, reflecting on the isolation many members experience in order to brainwash them or keep them in line.
"M" is for McPherson, Moxon-Meyer, Meister, Mills.
And a Mom named Elli Perkins, whose son could not take pills.
Mom-in-law Miscavige, Mack, Mooney, and McCann:
A dark march of mortality, morbidity, and scam.
On December fifth, 1995, Lisa McPherson died of a blood clot believed to have been brought on by sever dehydration and bed rest. Ms. McPherson had been under the care of the medical proffessionals of Scientology before she died and post mortum examinations suggested that she had been denied fluids for several days, she had been unconscious for up to forty-eight hours before her death, and she had been bitten by cockroaches.
On June twenty-fifth, 2000, Stacy Grove Meyer, a daughter of one of the CoS's many attorneys, died of electrocution. The death is ruled as an accident and it could easily have been completely faultless. However, this cannot be certain until serious investigations are undertaken to pursue and test other possibilities.
On June twenty-fifth, 1971, Susan Meister died aboard the ship Apollo...with a bullet in her head.
On April sixteenth, 1989, Bob Mills committed suicide. The Scientologist was approaching what was called OTIII (Operating Thetan level three) and was reported to have been abusive of one girl to such an extent that he was going to be taken to court over the issue.
Due to Scientology's opposition to psychiatric drugs, Elli Perkins could not give her son proper medication. On March thirteenth, 2003, Jeremy M. Perkins stabbed his mother to death and was later put in a mental institution after being aquitted based on mental instability.
Mary Florence Barnette, the mother-in-law of David Miscavige, Scientology's current leader, committed "suicide" in 1985. Before her death, Barnette had left the cult and when she was found, there were three bullet-wounds in her chest, one bullet-wound in her head, and two suicide notes.
In 1993, the body of Whilhelm Mack was found inhis garage. Mack had been blindfolded, gagged, and huing from the neck. Mack had spent the equivalent of 40,000 dollars on Scientology and was now demanding his money back, based on the claim that Scientology had made his life worse than before.
Ed Mooney was an accomplished Scientologist who had progressed as far as OT8. However, when his health began declining in 1990, he was put in a second-rate hospital where he soon died of an anuerism.
"O" is for oblivion upon a hangman's noose,
or the deathcall from the window-ledge where many faced their truth.
More than once, ex-Scientologist Tory Christman has mantioned a conversation between her and her brother that had been held before she left the CoS. In the conversation, her brother pointed out that they were almost the same age and yet while he had only known one person who died, she had known at least a dozen (Tory did not mention just how many people she knew who had died) and out of these people, seven of them had taken their own lives.
"U" are who I ask to look upon this soul's dark night.
Why are they dead? There's not just one.
And this is why we fight.
At this point, Anonymous addresses the audience and calls for them to realize just what kind of sinister force the CoS constitutes.
"S" for Scientragedy: innocence betrayed.
CO$ beware the Ides of March:
We are Legion.
Be Afraid.
With the end of the poem, Anonymous issues a direct threat to Scientology, telling the cult to "beware the Ides of March" which is March fifteenth, when Anonymous will launch its second worldwide protest against the CoS.

I feel like the entertainment industry has kind of numbed today's society to sympathy but I have to agree that some of these things can penetrate even those barriers.
And thank you for this fine article. Just researching this stuff hurts, doesn't it?
"The Pilot" was Ken Ogger, a long-time scientologist who left the organization and became a member of the "Free Zone," where scientology materials and coaching were offered for free rather than having to pay the church. He was formerly fervent devotee of Hubbard, had served under him in the Sea Org and actually been thrown overboard once. Hubbard changed his mind at the last minute, and pulled Ogger out. For this, Ogger credited Hubbard with having saved his life. In May 2007, just after making internet posts that indicated he was about to publish a new series of works, Ogger was found dead at the bottom of his swimming pool in Los Angeles. He had been attached to a concrete block, with metal wire. The death was initially ruled a suicide; then changed to homicide. The case remains unsolved.
Peter Frei was a scientologist who disappeared from Flag's Fort Harrison Hotel and was found floating in an area waterway, a number of days before he was reported missing by the church.
