Thistle Poem

Sandy James
Thistle adds texture to the garden;
Hardy native plant enjoys the sun;
Its botanical name is Echinops;
Sadly, some are noxious weeds.
Thrives in various climates;
Long lasting globe-shaped flowers;
Extremely tall and great as background plants.

    Pulling thistles that creep into the yard require gloves. I didn't know there were plants that you might want in a garden. Learned something - thanks. rcj
