Totnes is one of the most quirky towns in Devon. To this day, it remains true to its roots, and its history is present almost everywhere you look. Totnes is a popular place for those who enjoy the arts, and those who like to be free to express themselves in unique ways. If you are a free spirit, you will love Totnes. Here are a few of the best places to see in the town.
China Blue
China Blue could be a day trip all on its own! Located just before you get into the town center, China Blue has everything any aspiring artist could want. Their ceramics studio gives you the chance to paint your own masterpiece, and even try your hand at making pottery. Both adults and children can get in on the creativity, so it is something for all the family. There is also a large shop, filled with all kinds of gifts for the home. It's perfect for picking up souvenirs. You can also get food in their on-site café.

Berry Pomeroy Castle
Berry Pomeroy is one of the most haunted castles in the UK, so if you like to be scared, this might be a good place for you to see! Totnes actually has its own castle in the town, but it is no match for the gothic beauty of Berry Pomeroy. The castle has been standing since 1305, so it's no surprise it has many stories to tell. There are many legends which you can learn about, and if you are very lucky, you might just see the ghost of the famous Blue Lady.

Totnes Museum
The Totnes Museum is perfectly located right in the middle of the main street. You could almost mistake it for another shop if it weren't so heavily signposted. The museum is built inside an Elizabethan house, and it is very authentic. Some of the exhibits inside date back as far as 5000BC, and show the growth of the town over the years.
