Thorsten Kaye's Leading Ladies

Thorsten Kaye has been one of daytime's leading men for many years. Often part of a "supercouple," Kaye has had several leading ladies during his tenure in daytime television.

Susan Haskell
On One Life to Live, Kaye's character, Patrick Thornhart, became involved with Marty Saybrooke (Haskell) in 1995. They met in Ireland, when Patrick rushed into a pub and started kissing the surprised young woman. The kiss was a ruse--he was running from terrorists--but as she continued to help him, they fell in love. The couple left the canvas in 1997 after Patrick was shot; they decided to leave town and let everyone believe that he had been killed. In 2006, a recast Marty returned to Llanview with their son and said that Patrick had died while they were away. Haskell later returned to the role.

While on the show, Kaye and Haskell became a real-life couple. They are still together and have two young daughters.

Julie Pinson
After leaving One Life to Live, Kaye resurfaced on Port Charles as Ian Thornhart, Patrick's brother. Ian was attracted to the flirtatious Eve Lambert (Pinson), but they didn't get together right away since Eve was married. In December 2000, Ian and Eve were kidnapped and their deaths were faked. While being held captive, they fell in love. They eventually escaped, but Eve suffered amnesia after being hit by a car in front of her house. With no memory of her love for Ian or her decision to leave her husband, it took some time for Eve to rediscover her true feelings. In a time-travel storyline, Ian and Eve learned that they were soul mates who had been together in past lives but had never had a happy ending. In fact, they didn't get one this time, either; Eve died in an auto accident.

Lynn Herring
After Eve died, Ian was despondent. He turned to his friend Lucy Coe-Collins (Herring), and they became closer as her marriage fell apart. Ian's life changed dramatically when he was bitten by a vampire and then became one himself. Lucy, who had learned that she was a vampire slayer, was able to help him by having sex with him. Yes, that's right; sex with a slayer helped soothe a vampire's primal need for blood. Who knew? Ian and Lucy were a couple until the series ended.

Eva La Rue
Not long after Kaye hit All My Children's Pine Valley as Zach Slater, fans learned that Zach had a past connection with Maria Santos Grey (La Rue). Presumed dead when they met, the amnesiac Maria was known to Zach as Maureen Gorman. Zach tried to reconnect with her, but ultimately, she rejected him.

Alicia Minshew
Zach's onscreen pairing with Kendall Hart (Minshew) was originally a business arrangement that eventually became much more. Unfortunately, Zach's reluctance to open up completely about his feelings, and Kendall's inability to put Zach above anyone else in her life, led to a tumultuous relationship that ended when Zach was presumed dead in a plane crash.

Rumors abound that Thorsten Kaye will be returning to One Life to Live in a "back from the dead" storyline. As one of daytime's leading men, Kaye is destined to return to television. No matter which show he joins, he will inevitably be part of a couple. There's just one question. Who will be his next leading lady?
