Those Few Extra Pounds Became Man Boobs, Now What?

Have you noticed the extra pounds you've put on aren't only in your gut? What if some of those pounds have made their way to your chest? Most men find nothing more embarrassing than a set of man boobs. Below are some ways to help tone and eventually get rid of them all together!

If you're starting the notice the pounds piling on around your body, it may be time to consider your calorie intake. Research online about how many calories you should consume each day for your activity level, and then count every time you put something into your mouth. Eventually you will gain control of your eating habits and help start to reverse the pound problem you've been struck with.

It doesn't matter if it's for 10 minutes a day, get moving! Adding exercise to your daily routine will help to burn calories as well as tone your muscles which in turn raises your metabolism for faster fat burn. Diet alone can not do these things. It's common for men (and women) to gain weight as they get older because their level of activities slows down significantly but they still eat the same as they always have, thus burning far less calories and allowing the pounds to sneak up. You can start by adding a brisk walk to your routine, or swimming, cycling or running. The objective is to get your heart rate up and your blood pumping to burn off those calories.

The best way to burn fat is by turning it into muscle. If you've begun to lose a little bit of weight by watching your eating habits, you may notice tat your chest is still a bit flabby. Start weight training, you need to tone those muscles. In order to tone your chest, you will need to tone your entire body. Regular strength training and weight resistance should be added to your routine as often as you can handle. Work your entire body but aim your workouts for your upper body if that's your goal; bench press, butterfly and bicep curls work wonders. Of course, there are many other workouts or your upper body, just try things a little at a time until you begin to notice a difference.

Remember to change things up in your routine as well, if your body becomes accustom to something, it will be harder to burn calories and tone muscle. Try changing your workout every other day and add something new to your routine in place of something else. If you're doing your shoulders/arms today, tomorrow work on your legs. Intervals will help as well. If you like to walk or jog, try walking briskly for 3 minutes, then do a full speed jog for 2 minutes, then slow back down to a walk for another 2 minutes. You can do them in whatever order you choose, but switching it up in intervals is a great way to burn calories.

Be smart about weight loss. Almost every weight loss advertisement on the web is false or misleading. They will offer a "great, toned body" in exchange for your buying their pills, drink mix, powder, etc. Often times they contain steroids of some type. Your best bet is to avoid any type of dietary product and just do it the right way...workout and eat healthy.

If you've been eating smart and working out and you have not noticed a decrease in weight, or at least that you've toned up a bit, it may be time to pay your doctor a visit. There could be a medical condition that is the contributing factor to your much hated man boobs. You doctor can let you know of any possible causes and the practical treatments.

Make getting healthy (not just getting rid of your man boobs) a priority. Increased weight in the chest and abdomen area can put you at a higher risk for heart attacks. Stay focused and keep yourself in the healthy frame of mind you have been previously.
