Thoshiba TG01

The Widest Phone Yet

Another iPhone killer, is it?

Let us check it out.Brought to you by Toshiba the TG01 sports a 4.1 inch widescreen, it is the widest screen ever on a phone. With a screen this wide it is amazingly just 9 mm thick. It seems that it's not just for fun and games and it is targeted towards the business minded people as it is packed with WinMo 6.1. Its features are mostly work oriented like the dual time-zone, quad-band, push e-mail, etc. Toshiba has also converted the WinMo's lousy look in to a really smart look with Toshiba's 'Touch Interface.

It also is the fastest phone around with its Qualcomm 1 GHz processor which makes launching applications and files quick even in touch interface mode. It has a Flash compatible browser which enables you to enter and watch videos on video sites. Even though it has a 7.2 Mbps HSPDA connection, it is useless until you have a really fast connection. What's really innovative in the TG01 is the feature where it uses accelerometer to switch between applications. It also allows you to take calls just by shaking the phone.

It has a 3.2 megapixel, auto-focus camera, 801.11g Wi-Fi along with GPS, A2DP Bluetooth and supports microSD cards up to 32GB. It supports MP3, ACC and ACC+ music playback and you have to sync media using Windows Media Player. It looks a bit odd due its wider shape and WinMo is still sad. Maybe, it would have been much better on an Android. I think it won't be a big hit because even with its 1 GHz processor I doubt it would run Windows Mobile that fast. But, it can really prove useful to someone who lives a corporate life.
