Thought of that Thursday

Bridget Ilene Delaney
Yes, it is really Saturday. However, all my missing daily articles are being published today because of the mix up with AC and then I was updating my computer from Ubuntu 9.04 to Ubunto 9.10 yesterday, and that took all afternoon.

Today is Thursday and that means it is time for Thought of That Thursday. Thought of That Thursday is the day when I'll tell you the answer to Teaser Tuesday's brain teaser.

Did you miss Tuesday's brainteaser? View it here.

When we last left Ace, he was visiting his cousin, Champ. Champ gave him a puzzler about a family that had a fortune and had to find the correct heir. Two men showed up and they both looked as though they could belong to the family and then they both knew the family history. It was only when one readily agreed to a routine identity test that it was determined the other was the true heir.

Ace only had to ask one question to be sure of his answer. Were you able to figure out the answer?

Did it have to do anything with the personalities of the men? No.

Did it have to do with how either of the men looked? No.

Was there a secret that only one man would know but the other would not know? No.

Did it have to do with the method of the way an identity test would have been given? Yes.

Did it have to do with a medical condition held by the family? Yes.

Did you figure out the answer?

The reason that it was able to be found that the other man was able to be determined to be the real heir is because the other man readily agreed to a routine identity test. If the true heir were asked to take a routine identity test, he would have refused. At the time the identity tests were given, they had to draw blood. The family had hemophilia. Being that this was the case, the man would not have readily agreed to the identity test, afraid that he would continue bleeding and not heal from the blood being drawn.
