Helpless to the emotions
A captive of my own heart
My mind is never sleeping
In my thoughts nor in my dreams
The haunting never ceases
The feelings do not ease
The pain lingers still
I fight my mind the regret I feel
I can not change the reality
The past
Haunts me day and night
Twists my stomach
Into a thousand knots
Fills my soul with defeat
I try to run and can not hide
From the thinking that
Overcomes me
Distracts me
Destroys me
And she laughs and taunts me
Run , Run
But you can't hide
Your mind will always find you

Great poem.
Escape from reality; that is what poetry is for. Express yourself, then read what you have written; dont just read it, but read it. Take your troubles and hang them on a tree, go back to get them the next day, you might find they have been set free. Good Job Miss Lisa. I use to live in Altamonte Springs, for over 30 years i was there. Ken
