Thousand Oaks California! A beautiful place if I must say so myself. The few times that I have been to Thousand Oaks, I have noticed that there are quite a few places to do some shopping. Since a lot of the outdoor malls and shopping strips have more of a trendy style rather than formal look, I have put together a list of some of the best places to find that formal wear you need for prom.

Lets start with the mall of course, The Oaks Shopping Center. This mall has anchor stores such as Nordstroms, Macy's, and JC Penny. All of which offer a wide variety when it comes to formal gowns and dresses. Prices for these stores vary, with JC Penny being the least expensive of the three. Nordstroms at the Oaks Shopping Center has a selection of dresses that are on sale prices there range from $99-$300.

If you are looking for something a bit more upscale than that, or some place with a different selection of gowns, Sweet Moments Boutique may just be the spot for you. With beautiful dresses in sizes 2-12, stocked in all colors, patterns and material. The only downfall about Sweet Moments is how much time you will spend in the store because all of the merchandise is great. Sweet Moments Boutique also has accessories and a shoe selection to complete your entire prom look. Sweet Moments Boutique is open 7 days a week.

For a more trendy style, without breaking your pockets I would visit the Oaks Shopping Center, stores like Charlotte Ruse, Deb and Forever 21. They will have a selection of dresses to choose from and are within a great price range. These stores are great for teens who work and are purchasing their own prom dress. Cache' located on the lower level of the Oaks Shopping Center has beautiful dresses. From short to long with trains, what ever your pleasure for prom you can find it at Cache'. Prices range from $129- $350 on select dresses for prom. Cache' also offers accessories such as gloves, shawls and tiara's.

If you are looking to be the bell of the ball, my all time favorite choice for prom shopping in Thousand Oaks is The Bridal Collection. Don't let the name fool you, many bridal shops have the greatest dresses for prom. They usually tend to have a prom selection, but if it is not specifically designated to prom the bridesmaid selection is great. With the hottest and newest styles and trends The Bridal Collection has all you could ever want in a prom dress. Prices vary widely, and some of the nicer beaded dresses and long dresses can get pretty expensive, but if money isn't an object this is the spot to find your dress. You can schedule fittings here also and a specialist will assist you in finding all that you need. The Bridal Collection is located on Thousand Oaks Blvd, and is open Tuesday thru Friday from 12pm to 7pm Saturday from 10am to 5pm and Sunday from 12pm to 5pm. They are closed on Monday.
