Threatened

You say that you are making some changes
while you are away...
And suddenly I feel threatened.
As though the changes include the desire to get away from me.
Will these changes alter our relationship I wonder.
Is this why you haven't talked to me in two days?
Is it why you were distant when we spoke today?
Are you trying to separate yourself from your history?
Even the not so distant past you shared with me?
You say these things, and you don't elaborate,
and then I have to sit here and wonder about it
with raw nerves and hurt feelings.
Exposed and all alone
to wonder what you mean
to wonder about these changes
and their effect on me.
