Three 6 Mafia's Last 2 Walk Offers Nothing New

Will the Academy Award Winners Shine on Their Latest Effort?

The Reviewer
Three 6 Mafia was an infamous rap group before it won an Academy Award for its song, It's Hard Out Here For A Pimp, from the movie Hustle & Flow. Since its massive upset win, Three 6 Mafia has been on fire with a string of hit singles. Will the success continue on their latest effort Last 2 Walk?

The first single off of Last 2 Walk is I'd Rather featuring DJ UNK. The song is exactly what you expect from a collaboration between Three 6 Mafia and DJ UNK. The track features a strong beat and a catchy chorus.

The second single is Lolli Lolli (Pop That Body) featuring Project Pat, Yung D and Superpower. The chorus features Antares' trademark Autotune effect this time not provided by T-Pain. The song is just fair.

Lyfe Jennings joins Three 6 Mafia on Hood Star. The song is one of the better tracks on the album. The track is different than the other songs on the album. Lyfe's voice fits perfect with the mellow soul sample.

On My Own Way, Good Charlotte join the party. The song sounds interesting in concept however the delivery is flawed. The song just does not sound out and the vocals from Good Charlotte leave a lot to be desired.

On Some Chrome teams two of the greatest duos in Southern rap music, with UGK joining Three 6 Mafia. The song is a catchy and interesting song for the clubs. The magic of Three 6 Mafia shines through on the track.

I Got is a very catchy and interesting track that teams UGK's Pimp-C and Project Pat. The song features a legendary sample which is best left as a surprise to the listener. The song might be the most commercial track on the album.

Akon joins Three 6 Mafia on That's Right. The song shows off Akon's diversity as a vocalist and a producer. The song is fairly solid and catchy once the beat drops.

On Rollin' Lil Wyte joins the party. The song is one of the tracks that would have been better served being left off the album.

Trap Boom once again features Project Pat. The song is a nonstop adrenaline rush.

Last 2 Walk is not reinventing the wheel. If you are a fan of Three 6 Mafia, you will be very pleased with the album. Last 2 Walk gets 7.5 out of 10. If you are a fan of Academy Award winners Three 6 Mafia, make sure you pick up Last 2 Walk.

I really have to disagree with this review. I thought Rollin' was an awesome song, and also I love Weed, Blow, Pills which was left off of this review. This album is full of club bangers. Once again Three 6 Mafia is underrated.
