Three Awesome Educational Toys for Preschoolers

V. L. Hamlin
Every year we struggle over what we should get our children for their birthdays, holidays, etc. We try so hard to figure out if we should get them an amusing game that they will love or something educational. Why not get them something that can serve both purposes? The selection of educational toys out there is incredible. Just doing a simple search on any search engine will get your thousands of results! But the question is, which ones are the best?

Guess What! There is no best! They all teach different things in different ways, so the best is he one your child would enjoy the most.

I truly believe that children learn better and they learn more when they are doing things they enjoy. That is after all, why we call their play, their work. There is so much for them to learn, so much to absorb, that giving them only textbooks and worksheets drains their interest in learning. By giving them toys they will enjoy playing with, you are nurturing their need and their love of learning, each time they play with their new toy, they will learn something new!

Below you'll find three educational toys that preschoolers are sure to love!

#1 ~ Alphabet/Numbers Wood Block Train - Children love trains, especially little boys and so a train is perfect for teaching the alphabet and numbers to any preschool aged child!

# 2 ~ U.S. Map Puzzle - If your child is interested in learning about the United States, a map puzzle can be a great way to learn the location of the states, their capitols, as well as each states name.

#3 ~ English/Spanish Vocabulary Puzzle Card - In our society knowing how to speak a second language, especially Spanish, is very important. Studies have shown that people speak more fluently in a second language if they learn it as they are learning their native tongue. Vocabulary Flash cards are an excellent way to teach young children a second language!

When choosing an educational toy for your child, keep the following things in mind:

- What do they like?

- What is their favorite toy (Right now)? Can I find something similar?

- what is my child interested in learning about? What have they asked for information about recently?

You can find anything from blocks to video games that all have some different system of learning and each is equally as good as another, but always make sure to encourage your child's love of learning! The Preschool age is the most precious age for teaching new things. Children are very inquisitive at this age, just so interested in learning about everything, you absolutely must nurture it.
