1. The Simpsons Movie
Year: 2007
Director: David Silverman
Actors: Dan Castellaneta, Julie Kavner, Nancy Cartwright, Yeardley Smith and Harry Shearer.
Plot: Homer accidentally pollutes the town's water supply. Springfield then is encased in a gigantic dome by the EPA and the Simpsons escape and are declared fugitives.
Why I chose it: First it was a summer blockbuster, and it was hilarious. The Simpsons movie was like watching two hours of them and enjoying it. You have Homer's stupid antics, Bart's bad behavior, Lisa's trying to save the world, Maggie's abnormally smartness for a baby and Marge's motherliness/nagging. The characters are their usual self and even though it was a blockbuster nothing changed in the actor/voice department that is why the Simpsons TV show spawned a good movie.
2. Miami Vice
Year: 2006
Director: Michael Mann
Actors: Colin Farrell, Jamie Fox, Li Gong and Naomi Harris
Plot: Basically about Tubbs girlfriend Trudy getting kidnapped by a Neo-Nazi group, and then Crockett goes undercover. He falls for Isabella the wife of an arms and drug trafficker.
Why I chose it: Even though it showed the darker side of Miami Vice I say the show worked in many different levels. They had the two obviously characters, Sonny Crockett and Rico Tubbs. I think it was long overdue to have a movie. I wish though they could have the original cast but Jamie Fox and Colin Farrell showed that they could be just as good. So a long spanned show can have a okay movie.
3. House of Dark Shadows
Year: 1970
Director: Dan Curtis
Actors: Jonathan Frid, Grayson Hall, and Kathryn Leigh Scott.
Plot: Barnabas is released from his grave and goes on a killing spree, while at the same time he is charming his present day family members. While all this happens he also falls in love with Maggie Evans because she looks exactly like his decreased fiancé Josette. In between all of this Dr. Julia Hoffman is trying to find a cure for Collins.
Why I chose it: There was another movie but in my opinion if it didn't have Barnabas in it, it didn't work. House of Dark Shadows is creepy and it involves Barnabas Collins the greatest vampire character on TV. Jonathan Frid played Collins, which is nice because sometimes on movies you don't get the same actor to play the TV characters because it takes them long to actually make a movie. I enjoyed the TV show Dark Shadows and I think it spawned a good movie.
So those are my movie picks hope you enjoy. Imdb.com is my source.
