Not only is it healthy, but sushi restaurants typically give you a wide array of ethnic and exotic cuisine to choose from, in case you're sick of typical take-out food.
Here are three sushi restaurants in Atlanta, Georgia worth checking out: Taka Sushi and Passion, Sushi Huku and Thaicoon & Sushi Bar.
1. Taka Sushi and Passion
Located: 375 Pharr Rd., Atlanta, GA 30305
Taka Sushi and Passion is open Monday-Saturday from 530PM-1030pm.
The restaurant has a large sushi bar, menu and wine list, along with an outside patio.
Start off with some of their Sashimi and cold appetizers. The Sashimi All Star is a favorite, consisting of tuna, salmon and hamachi sashimi for $9.70, along with the Flounder Sashimi with Crawfish Salad roll for $8.70. Also try the Tuna Tartar, which is chopped tuna with tartar sauce, pinenuts, pear and scallion for $11, or the Salmon Ceviche, which is salmon with fruits and vegetables in ceviche sauce for $8.80.
Taka also has hot appetizers, from the Shrimp Voza, which is homemade shrimp and vegetable dumpling, for $6.70 or the Fried Calamari for $8.70. The Fried Scallops and Hot & Spicy Shrimpcrab are also hits.
If you want something more filling, try their meat menu, like the Slow Cooked Short Rib for $7.70, the Yakitori for $5.70 or the Japanese Style Gvoza Dumpling for $6.70.
Their Sushi Nigiri menu has plenty of options for you. Try the BBQ Eel for $5, the Yellow Tail for $6.50 or the Smoked Salmon for $5.50. My favorite selections here are the Sweet Shrimp for $6.00, the Flounder for $5.50 and the Tamago for $3.00. They also have a ton of roll selections, from the California Crab Roll and the Spicy Tuna New York Style Roll to the Healthy Seafood Salad Roll and the Diet Coke Roll. Also try the Passion Roll, Rainbow Roll or the CNN Roll.
2. Sushi Huku
Located: 6300 Powers Ferry Road, Atlanta, Georgia 30339
Sushi Huku is a Japanese Restaurant that's open for lunch Monday-Friday from 11:30AM-2PM and for dinner Monday-Saturday from 5:30PM-10PM.
For lunch, try any Bento Box combination for $12.95. This can include dishes like Tempura, the Veggie Roll, Salmon Teriyaki or Oyster Katsu, along with miso soup, salad and rice.
For dinner, choose between appetizers, Sushi dinners, Shashimi dinners, combination dinners, dinner entrees, fried food, soups and special foods. If you're looking for bigger portions, try the combination dinners for $25 each, such as the Tonakatsu or Geso Karaage. Each comes with miso soup, salad, mixed tempura and dessert. Entrees range from $15-$23, and include different Nizakana, Shioyaki, Tempura and Teriyaki dishes.
Their Special Rolls range from $12.50-$15.50 and are all served with Miso Soup. Try New Page, which is salmon, lemon and shrimp tempura or Pink Lady, which is spicy tuna, crab salad, cucumber and shrimp tempura.
Their soup is also delicious an inexpensive, from their traditional noodle soups like Kake Udon Or Soba and Nabeyaki Udon to their miso soups like Tofu Wakame or Asari Miso Soup.
