Quilt In A Day - Log Cabin by Eleanor Burns - This quilting book is listed first because it is one of the oldest and best loved.

At first glance, you may hesitate to spend the money on this quilting book because it is just one pattern. You will be hard pressed; however, to find a pattern that makes a more impressive- looking quilt on the beginner level.

Eleanor Burns walks you through everything that you need to know from how to choose your fabric to how to bind your quilt. She not only gives clear instructions, there are also pictures of the tools you will need to start quilting. Plus, she includes simple quilting designs rather than sticking you with a "quilt as desired" comment.
