Three Break-Out NFC Receivers for 2009

Great Players for Fantasy League

David Kenny
There are three wide receivers in the NFC that will have break-out seasons. Given their schedule and new added personal, DeSean Jackson of the Philadelphia Eagles will have a break-out year in the 2009 NFL season. Jackson will have a break-out 2009 season because the new added star rookies wide receiver Jeremy Maclin from Missouri. DeSean Jackson will be starting his second season with Donovan McNabb. With another star Jeremy Maclin on the other side of the field, Jackson will face less double teams. DeSean Jackson is one of the fastest players in the NFL, so he will have a big advantage going one on one with most NFL corners. The other reason why DeSean Jackson will have a break-out 2009 season is because the Philadelphia Eagles are playing the NFC south and the AFC west this season. In the NFC south Tampa Bay, Atlanta, Carolina, and New Orleans all have less then average cornerbacks. The AFC west with Denver, Oakland, San Diego, and Kansas City has the worst group of cornerbacks in the NFL. The speed of DeSean Jackson will be a major problem for all these teams corners.

Another wide receiver that will have a break-out 2009 season is Steve Smith of the New York Giants. Because of the loss of Plaxico Burress, he will have the opportunely to play the number one receiver. Smith will be in the game more and he will have more plays that he will be the number one receiver on. The Giants have one of the top five quarterbacks in the NFC. Eli Manning was the 2007 Superbowl MVP and has made the pro bowl in his last two NFL seasons. With a superstar quarterback throwing the ball, Steve Smith had 587 yards in his 2008 season. Steve Smith will break-out and have over a 1000 yards in the 2009 NFL season because he will be the Giants number one receiver. The New York Giants are playing against the worst group of cornerbacks in the NFL. The Giants are scheduled to play the NFC south and AFC west for the 2009 NFL season.

The third wide receiver who will have a break-out season is Steve Breaston of the Arizona Cardinals. Arizona already has a all-star cast at receiver. Since Larry Fitzgerald and Anquan Boldin are still on the team, Steve Breaston will be covered by the third cornerback or sometimes even the outside linebacker. Steve Breaston is fast. Anytime Breaston is matched up with a linebacker his speed will allow him to run past the defender. Breaston also has Kurt Warner to throw him the ball. Breaston is on a team that throws the ball 25-45 times a game, and Kurt Warner is one of the best in the NFL at throwing the ball to his receivers. Steve Breaston will be a top receiver for many years in the NFL.
