Three Changes to My Wardrobe I Resolve to Make in 2011

Nicole Lang
In 2011, I am making three fashion resolutions to keep my wardrobe stylish, fresh and constantly working for me. The New Year promises to be a good one and being as such it seems fitting that changes occur in even what seems to be the most basic yet one of my favorite areas of my life which just so happens to be my closet.

Accessorizing More

Oftentimes, I tell myself that I am going to accessorize. It seems I just never get around to it. When I find a great necklace or funky earrings, I do purchase them and wear them once or twice. It seems however I am constantly buying accessories that all in the end look the same.

Accessorizing is a fantastic way to give any outfit a different look. I need to stop being so afraid of accessorizing and be sure to give it more of an effort. In order to do so anytime I am in a store with great costume jewelry such as The Limited, Express or Ann Taylor, I am going to take a peak at the accessory section.

Wearing Colors Other Than Black & Grey

Let's face it, black and grey are colors most of us wear a lot of. I in particular have a sea of black and varying shades of grey in my closet. It seems as many times as I tell myself that I do not need another black dress or another grey skirt, I am automatically drawn to them in the store. Wearing color does not mean I have to give up on my favorite color palette.

It is easier to wear color in the summer I find however I am going to make a conscious effort in 2011 to brighten up my wardrobe and incorporate vibrant colors.

Experimenting with Different Color Shoes

Like accessories, shoes can make all of the difference in an outfit. A boring black and white outfit comes alive with red shoes. Navy pants jump out with yellow shoes and so on and so forth. Different color shoes are an exciting way to give a wardrobe a different and exciting look much like accessorizing more and wearing different colors can.

Trying to incorporate these changes might be hard but I am determined to give it a solid effort. I mean after all what do I have to lose? What changes are you planning on making in 2011?
