Three Fantasy Sports Games I Miss

Jacob Horn
Fantasy games come and go. Sometimes there are certain fantasy games that touch your heart and once they are ended you are left with a painful void. Well, not really but you get my drift. I want to briefly outline three fantasy games that broke my heart when they were discontinued.

Since Sporting News is are venue for this short article lets begin with a Sporting News fantasy game. Ever since I was around 15 years old I have always looked forward to the College Fantasy Football game run by Sporting News. I mean the start of that game was like Christmas day. The day the game was over I was already gearing up for next year. The game was easy to play but it still required good research and other fantasy skills. All you had to do was pick four team offenses and four team defenses. I want get into very much detail regarding anything else about the game but boy do I miss it.

I cannot remember the exact name of this next fantasy game but I do remember that it was sponsored by Sprint (cell phone company) and it was run by CBSSportsline. Basically, all you had to do was pick a QB, RB, and WR each week and you would get points based on their performance. After you had picked a player once you could not pick them them again. TSN does a game that is similar to this without the $500 weekly prize.

The final game is a fantasy basketball game that was run by ESPN. It was called 'Fastbreak.' There were two ways to play. You could change your roster daily or weekly. You picked a starting lineup all the way from PG to center. The salary cap was just perfect. You could not pick a dream team every night but you were able to pick a really solid five. You would also pick a whole team and I have kind of forgotten exactly how that part worked. I remember that you got five points if your team won.

These are three fantasy games that I really miss. Please feel free to post some of your favorite fantasy games that have been discontinued below.
