A Tribute to My Dad

Father
Wise advisor
Guiding, caring, supporting
Much larger than life.
Mentor

A cinquain (sing cane) is a five line poem. There are several different kinds of cinquains.

The poem above follows this pattern: Line one is one word. It should be a subject or a noun. Line two is two words. The two words are adjectives that describe the word in line one. Line three is three words, action verbs that relate to line one. Line four is four words. The four words should be feelings or a complete sentence that relates to line one. Line five is one word, a synonym of line 1 or a word that sums it up.

Dad
Growing crops
And six kids
Nurturing fields, livestock, family
Farmer

This form of cinquain has one word in the first line, two words in the second line, three words in the third line, four words in the fourth line and one word in the fifth.

Father
I look up to
Though I tower above
I will remain in your shadow
Always

This cinquain poem pattern has two syllables in the first line, four syllables in the second lines, six syllables in the third line, eight syllables in the fourth line and two syllables in the fifth line.
