Three Favorite Attractions at Disney's Animal Kingdom

Learn What Makes Them so Much Fun

Animal Kingdom, at Walt Disney World in Florida, is the newest and largest of the four theme parks. Officially opened in 1998, it is built around the theme of celebrating animals...in all forms. This is a fascinating and fun way to spend a day seeing many real animals, and a few pretend ones as well.

When visiting Disney's Animal Kingdom, there are a number of great attractions and rides to experience. While most people are aware of the major rides like Expedition Everest, Kilimanjaro Safari, and Dinosaur, this article will discuss 3 attractions at Animal Kingdom that are favorites of ours, that are a bit less known, which you won't want to miss as well.

An Animal Kingdom Favorite: The Festival of the Lion King

The Festival of the Lion King is an awesome show, and one that we really try to never miss when we visit Animal Kingdom. Based on the movie, this live-action show has all of your favorite characters performing to songs from the Lion King...and the performances, costumes, dancing, singing, and props are amazing. The audience sits on all four sides with the action taking place in the center, and there really is not a bad seat in the house. You will also find out that audience participation is strongly encouraged so be prepared to shout out your best animal sounds.

Don't Miss It's Tough to be a Bug

Another Animal Kingdom favorite, is It's Tough to be a Bug, and after seeing it, you may agree with me, that it actually seems pretty cool to be a bug. Despite all the evidence presented in this show about all the terrible things that happen to bugs, this is a fun show, and you may find your children become much kinder to insects afterwards. It's Tough to be a Bug is also one of Disney's 3-D attractions that are known to have a few surprises along the way.

One of the most fascinating things about this attraction is the way you enter it, as it is held below the Tree of Life...so you will really get to see how amazing this tree is, up close and personal. This brings me to my personal favorite thing to do at Disney's Animal Kingdom.

The Tree of Life: the Centerpiece of Disney's Animal Kingdom

When you visit Animal Kingdom, take the time to really look closely at the Tree of Life. Everyone takes the obligatory picture with the Tree in the background, and you will want to do this too. But get up close and really look at all of the amazing carvings of all different kinds of animals on the Tree of Life. We always find new ones on each visit. The workmanship is unbelievable and the detail is not-to-be-believed. You will undoubtedly feel as I do, that there is an incredible amount of skill and craftsmanship that went into creating the Tree of Life. And children love seeing how many animals they can identify! It is no wonder that the Tree of Life is a favorite of nearly every visitor to Animal Kingdom.

A trip to see Disney's Animal Kingdom will be filled with the adventure of seeing many animals, watching how they live, how they eat, and how they interact with each other. As a guest, you will learn many fun and fascinating things about the animals, both real and not-so-real. Be sure to experience as much of the park as you can, especially the three attractions mentioned here, for a memorable and fun day for your entire family.
