Three Food Cravings that Will Make You Fat in No Time Flat

Got a craving? What's your pleasure right now? Is it a nice thick steak? Mashed potatoes with gravy? The fact is, humans crave all kinds of things throughout the day, and most of the time when those cravings come, humans have no problem satisfying them. And that's fine as long as satisfying those cravings isn't causing unwanted weight gain. How can you tell the difference between the OK cravings and the cravings that will cause you to gain a lot of weight? Here are three food cravings that will make you fat in no time flat.

Soft pretzels

If you live on the east coast, near the cities of Philadelphia or New York, you are very susceptible to cravings for soft pretzels. Philadelphia is famous for its soft pretzels. And New York has good pretzels too. If you live in any area, you probably have had a craving for a soft pretzel at one time or another. But beware; these things will make you fat in no time flat. Here's why. Soft pretzels are composed of white flour. White flour which is a major component of white, starchy breads can really make you fat. Pretzels are rich in carbohydrates and any savvy dieter knows that carbs add excess fat to the stomach.

Diet Sodas

These may seem like they are good to consume because they usually have zero calories. But diet sodas can really sabotage a diet. Diet soda can make it so that your body makes more insulin. Diet soda can also inhibit a hormone called leptin. This hormone regulates your appetite. And it also regulates your metabolism.

Things that go crunch.

Do you love nuts, crackers, hard pretzels or cookies because they make a big crunching sound? Well look out. You may love that sound, but you won't love the extra flab. It may seem that these snacks are healthy. But nuts are packed with calories and crackers are usually made with white flour. In general, munching on crackers and pretzels creates a habit. And before you know it, all you'll want to eat is soft, chewy, or hard crunchy carbohydrates all of the time.

And that is the worse part about having these cravings--- the addiction that comes on. If you simply go on a small fast for maybe 2 weeks to a month that says you cannot have sugar or bread, you'll notice that you'll loose the taste and dependency for carbohydrates. And that means you'll start losing weight too.
