Three Free Festivals in Denver for 2011

Jaipi Sixbear
When it comes to free festivals in Denver, we all know the usual ones. There's Taste of Colorado, The People's Fair, Cinco de Mayo, Cherry Creek Arts Festival etc. While these are all fabulous festivals, it's likely you already know about them. You've been there many times. When it comes to getting a real taste of Denver, maybe you're looking for something different. That's why we really put on our thinking caps to find them for you.

The Mile High Global Bazaar is held at Denver's Skyline Park. For those not familiar, this park is located downtown on the 16th Street Mall at Arapahoe Avenue. As for what to expect from this free Denver festival, look to explore cultures all over the world on August 18, 2011 from 11am to 7pm. There you might:

*Sample food from many regions and countries.

*See and purchase works of art from various cultures

*International and local music

Good news Denver chocolate lovers: Admission to the Colorado Chocolate Festival is now free. Best of all, it's this weekend, May 6-7 at the Denver Merchandise Mart. What a great way to celebrate Mother's Day! Imagine a festival made entirely of chocolate. Well, not quite. Don't eat the chefs. They won't be able to mix up all those delectable chocolatey goodies. Here's what you can look forward to at this free Denver festival.

*Competitions

*Wine tastings

*Chocolate tastings

*Chocolate cooking demonstrations

*Mother's Day Gifts

*Kids activities and games

Have you ever been to a pumpkin festival? Me neither This year I'm going to try to remember the one at Four Mile Historic Park in Denver on Saturday October 1 and Sunday October 2 from 10am to 4pm. What so great about a pumpkin festival? Well, it's not just about the pumpkins. Here's some of the fun stuff going on at this free Denver festival.

*Pumpkins available for purchase

*Hay rides

*Music

*Fall themed food

*Old fashioned fun and games
