Three Games Worth Looking into This Holiday Season

Most the time gamers are always looking into the latest shooters on their favorite console. For the XBOX 360 there are a few great shooters coming out here pretty soon and they are Halo 3, Call of Duty 4 and John Woo's Stranglehold. You can get Call of Duty 4 and Stranglehold on other systems as well but these previews are based of the XBOX 360 version and the facts will pretty much old true to other versions as well. Any gamer into shooters should check into these three games each coming by the end of this year.

Halo 3 is pretty much known as one of the biggest games of all time since it's first release for the original XBOX. I have never been that huge on Halo but it is still a fun game and the multiplayer is extremely fun. The game is slated to come out on September 25th and will definitely be one of the most popular games of the year thanks to Grand Theft Auto IV getting delayed to early to mid 2008. Expect to see lineups everywhere at midnight the day this game comes out no matter where your town is located. If you haven't preordered this game then your chances of getting it are pretty slim at launch. Halo is guaranteed to be a top Christmas purchase this year as well.

Halo 3 features a single player campaign, which is challenging on easy but on the hardest game setting it can be frustrating and still a good challenge. The multiplayer of this game is where it shines. There are millions of people that play Halo 2 online and will follow over to when this game releases. You can have game modes such as capture the flag, death match, team death match and more.

Call of Duty 4 will also be a popular game this time around for a change. Call of Duty 3 felt recycled and just a different version of Call of Duty 2. This time Call of Duty brings warfare to modern times and is already looking to be an impressive game. Call of Duty has been known for it's cinematic action and game play and you can expect the same from Call of Duty 4. The multiplayer will be different this time around as well. This time it's broken into classes and each class will have it's own unique traits that makes you better than some but will still have weaknesses so it balances out. You can also earn experience points to put towards your character.

You can fully customize your weapons and gear in multiplayer based on your playing style and environment. Call of Duty 4 is already looking impressive game play wise and graphically. Call of Duty 4 is slated for release in November of this year so go preorder now. Within a month or so, the creators will be releasing a multiplayer beta and you can sign up for it at the official Call of Duty 4 website.

Another great shooter that will be out pretty quick is John Woo's Stranglehold. I personally don't know anything about John Woo but the game is pretty freaking fun! The demo is available on XBOX LIVE and it's a heft download at 1.3 GB but very much worth it. The graphics are pretty good but definitely not the best looking game for the XBOX 360 by far. I haven't tried it on a HDTV so it that could mean a world of difference as well. The environments are destructible to an extent like food items, chairs, walls will take bullet holes and so on.

Probably the coolest feature of this game is what is called Tequila time. This is like a slow down mode kind of like the Matrix or something where gun battle slow down and bullets go at super slow rates just like the Matrix. The moves agent Tequila can perform are pretty cool including dives, jumping on rolling carts and shooting bad guys as you wheel by and diving straight back unleashing a barrage of bullets on your unsuspecting enemies. The moves and methods of taking your enemies out is what sets this game apart and makes it fun. There are multiple ways of taking down people including shooting propane tanks and electronic signs that fall on enemies. Look for Stranglehold to be released on August 27th of this year.
