Three Great Anti-Spyware Programs That Are Free and Offer Superior Protection

Spyware is a huge problem for users surfing the web these days, and protection can be expensive, but luckily there are free solutions available. That's right free solutions that will not cost you a dime, just a few minuets to download and install. These programs are easy to find are a wonderful at what they do, and this is a list of my top three anti-spyware programs available for free download.

Before I go on any further let me say that there are a lot of nasty spyware programs lurking all over the internet and some problems will require more help then these programs can give you. Also not every program that says it's free actually is, and not every program can be trusted, so don't just download random "security programs because in actuality they could be installing spyware onto your PC and leaking your personal information. These three programs are both free and safe.

Spybot - Search and Destroy. This program is great and will detect all kinds of spyware on your PC that you may not have enven known existed. Spybot has a deep scaning process that will search out many spyware programs and files that many other anti-spyware programs miss. Also Spybot will also allow you to update the program frequently allowing you to have up to the minuet protection.

Ad-aware SE professional Edition. This program is probably better then spybot because it seems to have more spyware terms and definitions in it's data base, but will occasionally miss programs that Spybot can detect. Spybot and Ad-Aware compliment each other perfectly, seemingly completing one another. Ad-Aware will also allow for you to update definitions constantly. Also the time it takes to run a full system scan is very short and the program is extremely quick compared to other free anti-spyware programs.

AVG Free Edition. This program has a limited time that it will run on your PC, like a trial edition, but it's well worth the download. AVG is probably the best Anti-Spyware program that I know of and it's very simple to use. AVG will detect not only Spyware, but also viruses and other malicious software attempting to install on your computer. AVG will also find threats on it's own without scanning and eliminate them if the need is there (with the users permission of course) and updates automatically each day. You can also have AVG run a complete system scan at a certain time every day, or night, to constantly make sure your compute stays clean.

Al three f the above programs are great, but each will occasionally miss a spyware program or file that has become imbedded on your computer, so having all three is a good idea. Spybot is probably the least effective of the three programs followed by Ad-Aware, the AVG, but all three compliment each other finding devious programs where the otheres have missed them.
