Three Great Restaurants in Cincinnati Near Garfield Suites Hotel

Travelers to Cincinnati Need to Know Where a Good Reastaurant Can Be Found

Donald Pennington
Travelers planning to make their visit to Cincinnati a stay at the Garfield will want to know the lay of the land, and where a great restaurant is, before arrival. While the city is a modern, beautiful place, it's also a big place. Not only will knowing locations save time, the knowledge can help travelers keep from getting lost.

As of February, 2010, there are three restaurants near the hotel that will suit almost any occasion.

Cincinnati Restaurant Number One: Cafe Martin

The first restaurant offers great American-style fare as well as excellent pizza. Prices are competitive considering the convenience of the location.

The restaurant's hours are: Monday to Thursday 6:00 am to 2:00 pm, and then 5:00 pm to midnight. Weekends are a bit different. On Friday and Saturday, they're open from 8:30 am to 2:00 pm, and then from 5:00 pm to 11:00 pm. Sundays, they are open at 8:30 am to 2 pm, and then run from 5:00 pm to 10 pm.

The ambiance of Cafe Martin is upscale casual that serves alcohol without coming across as a bar. The most popular items served are hamburgers and pizza, but there is an ever-changing, daily feature special.

Cincinnati Restaurant Number Two: Rock Bottom Brewery

In the center of downtown, there is a pleasant, friendly place that business travelers and families alike can enjoy: The Rock Bottom Brewery. While the Rock Bottom Brewery is another location that serves alcohol, they're family-friendly, and they offer a kid's menu for the little ones.

According to one of the waitresses, Kirsten, the atmosphere here is casual, laid-back, and there's no jacket required. Diners can either take advantage of the wide-screen TV's to catch a game, or they're welcome to eat in the main dining room.

The food selection is, as Kirsten puts it, "typical bar fare," along with soups, salads, fillets, and a selection of steaks. But the restaurant takes the most pride in their Classic Mac and Chicken - a pasta dish with all white meat chicken and parmesan cheese. It includes a salad.

Sundays through Thursdays the restaurant is open from 11:00 am to 10:00 pm. On Friday and Saturdays they run from 11:00 am to 11:00 pm. Every night, the bar stays open one hour after the kitchen closes.

Cincinnati Restaurant Number Two: Campanello's

Besides just a great place for delicious Italian food, at reasonable prices, Campanello's Italian Restaurant is known for being a center of the downtown community. Traveler's who are hungry for lunch and knowledge can find both just a short walking distance from the hotel.

This family-owned restaurant in the heart of downtown Cincinnati offers up lunches at fair prices, home-made desserts, and a place to help folks find their way around town. The atmosphere in Campanello's is comfortable and friendly, yet diners who aren't dressed properly will at least get looks from the other patrons.

Reservations are recommended to make sure the family gets a great seat, and their lunch hours are: Monday through Friday, from 11:30 am to 2:30 pm. Dinner hours are Monday through Saturday from 5:30 pm to 10:30 pm, with Sunday's dinner hours being from 5:00 pm to 8 pm. According to the management, the first dish anyone should try, is the lasagna. Theirs is only a one-meat lasagna, but it's made from scratch daily, fresh.

Carry-outs are available if a reservation isn't convenient.

I just checked out my route to Virginia to visit my son, but the map takes me through Columbus, OH, not Cincinnati.
