Lake Charles, Louisiana is Proud of It's Seafood!

Coming to Lake charles, Louisiana? Hungry for seafood? Sure, you could trust any old online search, but you may very well encounter listings still up of closed businesses, or just bad places. I hate it when that happens. So, I called around Lake Charles and asked strangers for their seafood restaurant favorites, for you. I asked folks for good places to eat with excellent reputations for quality, and overall value, with a focus on variety. Don't thank me. Thank the good people of Lake Charles, Louisiana. They didn't even ask for credit for their assistance with this list.

Pat's of Henderson

For fifty years, diners in-the-know around Lake Charles, Louisiana have made Pat's of Henderson a seafood tradition. This fine dining seafood and cajun style restaurant offers guests a comfortable, charming dining room, laid out in elegant style. Prices are surprisingly reasonable, considering there has been three generations of family running the business.

They're open from 11:00 a.m. Until 9:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 11:00 a.m. Until 10:00 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and on Sunday, they're open from 11:00 a.m. Until 9:00 p.m. The lunch and dinner menu offer not only great seafood and fish, but there's also a variety of other items, too. There's even a low-calorie menu and of course, a kid's menu. Cajun Pasta is worth a try!

Diners can order the usual beverages, but these nice folks are proud of an extensive wine selection. The dress code is comfortable casual, and reservations are welcome, but not required. Placing a reservation might be helpful on Saturday night, since they're busiest then.

There's something wonderful when the words "Mom and Pop" and "restaurant" get together. From 10:30a.m. Until 9:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday, hungry people stop in to enjoy what has been called the best crab legs in Louisiana. Others will disagree, but only to say it's the gumbo which is the best around. My recommendation? Try them both!

Those who would enjoy a legal adult beverage with their meal will be pleased to know they do serve drinks, but the focus is on the food. Reservations are not required, not even suggested, and dress codes are considered silly here. Seafood Palace is a truly relaxing place to eat.

From 10:30 a.m. Until 9:00 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, and from 10:30 a.m. Until 10:00 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, Steamboat Bill's has served up some of Lake Charles' best seafood and crawfish since 1982. They were even ranked among the "10 Best Places to Take an Exit to Good Eatin'!" in USAToday.

Customers come here for something a bit out of the ordinary in seafood. Reservations are not required and there is no dress code outside of standard rules of decency. If you like things a little on the spicy side of life, this might just be your dream come true.
