The beach is often a favorite among children and adults. North Carolina has both quiet and crowded beaches. Wrightsville Beach and Wilmington are two quieter family friendly beaches that any family would enjoy. Tourists in the Wimington area will enjoy uncrowded beaches, tasty food, an array of shopping choices and a complete look into history! For a family that is looking for more of a commercial environment, check out Myrtle Beach, that can be found in both North and South Carolina. The Outer Banks of North Carolina are also a well-traveled area that many families enjoy year after year. Whether you are soaking up the sunshine, jumping the waves or building a sandcastle, North Carolina has great beaches. Bring a bathing suit, a towel and some sunblock and enjoy a day on the beach.
A trip to the mountains of North Carolina would not be complete without a stop in Asheville. Asheville is a beautiful mountain town that has a lot to offer visitors of all ages. With the vibrant and changing colors in the fall months, many people say that the best time to visit Asheville is during September, October and November. When visiting Asheville, don't forget to check out Chimney Rock Park and Yellowstone Falls. Pack a picnic, a blanket and a pair of hiking boots and enjoy the scenery of the North Carolina mountains. Don't forget your camera-you are guaranteed to see some beautiful sights!
If your family is more interested in museums and galleries, check out the Piedmont Triad area of North Carolina. The Piedmont Triad consists of Greensboro, High Point and Winston Salem. While visiting the Piedmont Triad area, check out the Greensboro Children's Museum or the Natural Science Center of Greensboro. Your child might be interested in the Children's Museum of Winston Salem or Old Salem-a museum that takes you back to how things once were. Because High Point is the furniture capital of the world, you will find many furniture galleries and museums dedicated to the making and selling of furniture.
