Three Great Ways to Help Childsplaycharity.Org This Christmas Season

Donald Pennington

Whether you celebrate Christmas, any other seasonal holiday, or none at all, we all know this time of year can be challenging even if all things are right with your world. Now, imagine if your child were hospitalized. Right now, all around the US, Canada and the UK, there are thousands and thousands of children in hospitals for a variety of conditions.

ChildsplayCharity.org is a non-profit group which works with hospitals in all three countries (plus one in Cairo, Egypt) to provide sick children the simple joy of entertainment. We were all children once, and we can all remember just how important it was to us, to keep ourselves occupied and entertained. The young mind is so vibrant and active - and hospitals are so boring - after all. The beauty of this charity is in how they help the child's recovery time, and the measure of relief and peace-of-mind they bring to the parents.

I know there are a lot of charities asking for help lately, but wouldn't it give you such a wonderful feeling to reach out to just one hospitalized child? They're not needing very much, if we could all do just a little bit. If a grumpy old curmudgeon like myself can help, I'd hope others can see fit too. Here are three ways you can help:

Way to help Childsplaycharity.org #1 - Use their Amazon Wishlist: It's easy. When you visit the homepage, open the map on the right-hand side. From there, pick the hospital you want to help. When you visit their Amazon Wishlist, you'll see a list of toys, games, books, movies, coloring sets and more that the hospital is hoping you could buy as a donation for their child guests.

The prices of items vary, of course and depending on what state or country you live in, there may or may not be taxes involved. You'll want to double-check these details before making a purchase. If this isn't the easiest option to help them you can always consider the next option.

Way to help Childsplaycharity.org #2 - Text 50555 to donate $5 instantly: The $5 is charged against your cell-phone bill and goes directly to the charity. From there, funds are allocated according to the various hospitals' needs and you get the joy of knowing you've done something wonderful. Just in case even a $5 donation is too much to ask, there's a 3rd option.

Way to help Childsplaycharity.org #3 - Make a PayPal donation of any amount:
You set the amount, and it's as quick and easy as - well - PayPal! This option is the easiest way for those who can't make a toy purchase, but who still want to help. If you just happen to be an officer with any corporation, they need your help too. Corporate sponsorships and volunteer/fundraising opportunities are explained on their FAQ sheet. They can also be reached via telephone at 206-274-0024.

Every one of these kids is precious to a whole bunch of other someones just like you. Let's help make the holidays easier for others, shall we? I promise to not even object to you calling it Christmas.
