Three Hottest-spots of New York City

New York City has virtually thousands of things to do. Here is a list of three of the most popular ones you must visit when you're there! Take a camera!

Central Park

843 acres gives this park much room to do just about anything you can imagine. Joggers flock to the park to get in their exercise. Bike riders take advantage of the many trail offered in the park. Kids can ride the Friedsam Memorial Carousel, or visit the Central Park Wildlife Zoo. While you're at the zoo, keep your ticket, as it affords you free entry to the Tisch Children's Zoo, which is close nearby. Strawberry Field is two and a half acres of black and white "Imagine" Mosaic, which is a tribute to John Lennon, and was donated by Naples, Italy. Ice Skating is available in the winter at Wollman Rink, and use the same rink to in-line skate in the warmer months. Check out the Conservatory Garden, rent boats at the Conservatory Water, or race mini-yachts at the same place. You can even rent a boat of your own! Central Park is a must-see while you are in New York, as it is a highly popular and very historic.

The Metropolitan

A gathering of internationally renowned museums, the building holds an amazing 2 million-plus works of beautiful art. See art from artists of all time periods, nationalities, styles, and ages. For those who love medieval art, be sure to check out The Cloisters, which is located in a separate building in Northern Manhattan. Very popular are The Unicorn Tapestries. Many different activities are held at the Met, including concerts, lectures, classes, and walking tours. Always something to see and always something to do!

Grand Central Terminal

The terminal is a beautiful work of art in itself, and is said to be one of Manhattan's only remaining great gateway. Three high-arched windows, with pairs of fluted columns situated between them, can be seen from the street. A gorgeous clock sits on the top and three statues of Transportation, Minerva, Mercury and Hercules, sit with it. Go inside to see the gold and nickel plated chandeliers, mappings on the light blue ceilings showing the zodiac constellations, and a beautiful new marble staircase that was modeled after the Garnier stair at the Paris Opera. There are sixty railroad tracks that transport over 500,000 people a day. Check out the retail stores, dining area, and kiosks in the lower level. Grand central also has Arts for transit, which places arts and musical performances throughout the public transportation system.
