Three Ideas for Nerd Crafts to Sell on Etsy

Ann Siper
Nerd crafts, like t-shirts, are a popular search on online craft stress like Etsy. Opening your own nerd store and creating one of a kind nerd crafts to sell will set you apart from the rest and really make your online craft store at Etsy stand out.

Here are 3 ideas for nerd crafts to sell online at craft stores like Etsy:

Online Nerd Store Craft #1: Glasses

Every nerd may not wear glasses, but finding and selling fun vintage nerdy glasses is an awesome idea for a nerd store on Etsy. You can find great nerd glasses or retro glasses with a nerdy look and sell them as it, but why not take this time to create some one of a kind hand painted glasses that take being a nerd to a whole new level.

You can paint out funky glasses in acrylic paints in wild colors. Be sure to add the white tape in the middle to complete the whole look.

Online Nerd Store Craft #2: Dishes

So, I see a tone of nerdy t shirts and nerdy scribbles of art on objects on Etsy, but I never see nerd dishes. Nerds have to eat too don't they? You can create a fun line of nerdy dishes by recycling old plain dishes and painting on them with porcelain paints or glass paints.

You can turn everyday stemware into beaker inspired glasses that will have the scientists out there drooling.

You can also use fun physics equations from your old textbooks and paint them onto the rims and borders of your plates and bowls. This way when you are having everyone over for an evening of Trivial Pursuit the whole look is not hidden by the food on the plate!

You can take this look as far as you want and have some real fun with it.

Online Nerd Store Craft #3: Aprons

Finally, for the nerd geeks out there, who love to experiment, but end up with messy chemicals and powders on them, why not create a line of fun nerdy aprons. You can screen print any crazy physic equation on them, print out fun sentences from nerdy movies, or veen draw images of experiments on their.

Screen printing is the best idea to create more than one apron with the same nerdy slogan or detail though! Be sure to pre wash the aprons for this one. I also recommend using cotton twill aprons or recycled aprons in place of canvas, which does not always screen print very well.
